I have been emailing to my Congressional representatives vivid news stories from these governmental sources that show what is REALLY happening on the US Border:

I do include a personal introduction to whatever story I select so that he will know my views and conclusions. I email several times a week to both my Senators and my Congressman. I am trying to point out that stopping these people at the border costs a small fraction of what local governments must spend to combat the problems. I also try to point out that these international criminals rely upon networks of people already in the US--due to illegal immigration.

Anyone else have an opinion on the effectiveness of this? Some of the news stories have been alarming and outrageous---such as a recent one about the detention of 104 immigration law fugitives, which included almost twenty five percent violent criminals. Or the several hundred pounds of cocaine seized. The same stories we see here on the board. And since these clearly come from a US government source it is impossible to argue with the authenticity. I figure this is much better than simply my own opinion. There are also more comprehensive fiscal year reports available from these agencies.

What if hundreds of people did this in each state? It is very easy to do---to cut and paste the article and include a paragraph of comments.

Good idea to use those good sources to keep your Reps apprised as to what's going on along the border, and pointing out the cost effectiveness of real border security.

I send all kinds of valuable information several times a week to my congressmen and several others...like Sessions, Vitters, Dorgan and many others that I believe will discuss the information with other congressmen.

See with enough of us doing that we will hit most of the Senate several times a week and hopefully get them educated on what is happening around the country and how Americans feel...(incase they did not notice during the election)
