Thread: 1 MILLION DOLLARS TO DEBATE MCCAIN or KENNEDY on bill.

I think we need to talk to someone wealthy who can put this forth ( the seed money) and I think someone who is WELL VERSED in all of the loopholes, all of the past promises.. the NAU etc.. Basically a brainica on this bill and all its 'caveats'... (someone from here or numbersusa or wherever)

I am not talking about "debate" in the traditional sense, but basically taking to task all the 'loopholes" and special interest amendments and such...

SHOULD PUBLICLY OFFER MCCAIN OR KENNEDY TO A DEBATE on TALK RADIO or on CNN... And they should do it fast... Before Thursday.

Because I AM SURE neither of them will come out, which will prove they are chicken. I am sure they will send some "lacky" but unless you can DEBATE someone of SENATOR status or above, it ain't worth it..

But i think it should be done. There MUST be some wealthy person out there who is behind the AMERICAN PEOPLE and not special interest.

Or, thousands and thousands of Americans of all backgrounds, ethnic and economic, can continue emailing or faxing their elected officials through various non-partisan organizations without charge, calling their official's offices locally, and/or visiting those offices personally when possible to make their opinions known on this issue.

These positive actions are free or of relatively low cost, and they seem to be working for us right now: only 5 more Senate votes against cloture on S. 1639 needed by Thursday!

That's right. It's easier and effective to sit here for hours and hammer the senators with e-mails, faxes and phone calls. Finding all their mail boxes are full, the lines are busy/ringing off the hooks and the thought of this bothering them inspires me to do more. As soon a I found out the senators don't like it - they just want to pass the bill and go on vacation - I started to step it up a notch. Bam!
I don't plan on stopping. This is payback for all the aggravation they have caused us.

Not necessarily saying I agree with you, but I must admit your analogy put a smile on my face this morning.

Evidently the thousands and thousands of calls faxes and e-mail ARE working, it worked the last time the bill came up.

Yesterday after the vote, every radio show host and senator that was interviewd came out and said if you want to stop this bill keep the pressure on with your calls.

I'll tell you what else, it is telling our House of Representatives how mad we are and they are much closer to the public than the Senate, coming up for re-election every two years keeps you on your toes.

So keep the lines busy and the faxes humming, let them know you are mad as hell at the vote they cast yesterday. CALL CALL CALLLLLLL!!!! FAX AND E-MAIL. Give em hell ALIPACERS!!!

gracious, what a militant response! Didn't I read somewhere that you are a grandmother? This sounds more like something that would come from Harry Truman (I'm sure you remember him) than from a kindly cookie maker!
