Amnesty Sneaking Back into Congress -- Again!

Amnesty Sneaking Back into Congress -- Again!

How many times do the American people have to tell Congress that we reject amnesty for illegal aliens. We've called, sent e-mails and faxes, and written letters telling our distinguished "leaders" that we respect the rule of law, and we do not want individuals rewarding for breaking it. Yet, the Senate is at it again. After multiple defeats, thanks to large numbers of concerned activists, members of the Senate are trying to pass amnesty once again.

This time, the Senate is hiding the amnesty legislation inside the Iraq War Supplemental Appropriations Bill. That's right... the legislation focused on paying for our troops who are in harms way is also the means by which senators are trying to give illegal aliens a free pass. This is wrong, and we should once again let Congress know how we feel.

As noted in the story Senate loads war funding bill with domestic programs, the bill has become a hodge podge of numerous additions for pet projects and more spending. One rider presented by Sens. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Larry Craig (R-ID) "would allow almost 1.4 million immigrant farm workers to stay in the United States for up to five years." Another provision by Sens. Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) and Judd Gregg (R-NH) would "extend an expired program to allow seasonal workers to return to the country using H-2B visas."

NumbersUSA.com explains that the Feinstein-Craig amendment also includes the illegal alien's spouse and children which would bring the total to about 3 million. Considering this amendment is aimed at "temporary" farm workers, why does the worker need to bring his whole family?

All that is needed in order for an illegal to stay in the country under this amendment is for the person to prove that he/she worked 150 days or earned at least $7,000 in agricultural employment between January 1, 2004 and December 31, 2007. Question... How would an illegal alien prove employment history? Oh, that's right... through pay stubs and documents showing they paid taxes. Of course, this is only possible by using a fake Social Security number -- another criminal offense.

We need to take action to stop this kind of activity. Please contact your senators TODAY and tell them to oppose any efforts to grant amnesty to illegal aliens. Together, we can defeat this measure once again.

This is at least the third time that this article has been up.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
