Ann Coulter agrees that the Republicans had better get busy quick and get some legislative wins under their belt. The most pressing piece of business will be to defeat whatever dictatorial declaration of amnesty the illegal alien in the White House decides he’s going to impose on the citizens of America.
While very celebratory in the wake of the Republican tsunami, Ann Coulter jokingly cautions “right wingers” to “stay paranoid” and keep the Republicans’ feet to the fire.
She also points out her recommendations for the immediate course of action that Republicans should take. In doing so she notes that the most popular, landslide winner in the Oregon elections was Measure 88, a proposition to prohibit driver’s licenses to illegal aliens, and Oregon is a liberal state. That is a point which should not be ignored by the Republicans.
Coulter says, “We could start with a simple little fence bill.” She also points out that rather than passing a stack of new legislation, the new Senate Majority leader could simply work from a list of the legislation which is already sitting in Harry Reid’s desk. In addition to being some good pieces of legislation, it would also have the impact of demonstrating to the nation that the real do-nothings were the Las Vegas Senator and those who obeyed his commands.
She says most of all, even more importantly, get the Democrats on record voting against beneficial legislation, noting that Harry Reid won’t be there to cover for them anymore.
Coulter is calling for a border fence and asks how Obama can claim that they don’t work when he’s surrounded by one at the White House. The dismantling of obamacare needs to be a priority as well and the waivers are about to be lifted, taking the debate on the issue from the realm of the theoretical to the actual. When the cost hits home, the usually disinterested American people are going to start paying attention.
She notes also how the toughest job of all was that of New Hampshire Senate candidate Scott Brown, the one participant left out of the Republican victory tsunami. She believes Brown played a key role in securing other Republican candidate victories by forcing the Democrats to divert money into New Hampshire in order to salvage what had previously been thought to be a safe seat.
He almost pulled it off and it was his attacks on Jeanne Shaheen’s support of Obama socialism and his lawless amnesty that played a major role in weakening her and created the need for the cash infusion.
She’s excited, the Republicans have an opportunity and they had better not blow it.
