Donald Trump slammed South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley as weak on immigration at a rally in Sumter, S.C., on Wednesday.

When Trump mentioned Haley’s name, his supporters booed their home-state governor just hours after she threw her support behind Marco Rubio’s campaign.

“Nikki Haley gave a speech a couple weeks ago –” Trump said, stopping as the crowd jeered.

“Yeah it’s not good,” he said. “It’s not good. First of all, she’s very weak on illegal immigration. Very weak. Very, very weak. She’s very weak on illegal immigration. You can’t have that. We need strong, strong immigration policies.”

In January, Haley warned in her State of the Union rebuttal that Republicans must not follow the “angriest voices” in the party. Haley later admitted she was referring to Trump.

The GOP front-runner has since incorporated that flap into his stump speech, saying that she’s right about him being angry and that he won’t apologize for it.

“I am angry, I’ll be honest,” Trump said Wednesday. “And so are the people that follow me, because we have the most loyal people and the people that follow Trump are angry. They’re angry.”

“Remember this – we’re not angry people,” he continued. “But you get upset and you get angry when you see such gross stupidity and incompetence."
