AZ Governor Signs Tough Bill ..... BUT.....

    Governor signs illegal immigration bill

Gov. Janet Napolitano on Monday signed one of the toughest illegal immigration bills in the country despite major concerns it could cripple life-saving emergency services, damage the state’s economy and open the door for racial profiling.

In a letter sent to state lawmakers, Napolitano said she would be willing to hold a special legislative session later this year to fix the problems she sees with the new law.

“Immigration is a federal responsibility, but I signed (House Bill) 2779 because it is now abundantly clear that Congress finds itself incapable of coping with the comprehensive immigration reforms our country needs. I signed it, too, out of the realization that the flow of illegal immigration into our state is due to the constant demand of some employers for cheap, undocumented labor,â€

The bill should protect critical infrastructure. Hospitals, nursing homes and power plants could be shut down for days because of a single wrongful employment decision.
This is a joke.....OR is illegal aliens running our power plants, hospitals.....??? That single decision would be WHAT???.....the entire hospital support staff is illegal?? I guess it could be??!!!

Janet must know, she's sanctioned their being here so far.
Illegal aliens remain exempt from American laws, while they DEMAND American rights...

The devil is in the details, a press release for signed legislation can be very deceiving. Given this Governors past political views on immigration you may want to hold off on the praise until we receive the details and examine the loop holes that are sure to be well crafted and possibly hidden in the bill. This sounds very good on the surface but could be a stinky political trick from a Pro-Amnesty Governor.

Rep. Steve Gallardo, a Phoenix Democrat, said he and a coalition of Hispanic and business groups were preparing to challenge the measure in federal court before it becomes law.
La Raza-loyal Hispanics and Business groups. Hopefully the tide will be turned enough by the time they bring this to federal court that the court will actually - WHAT - uphold the law and insist on the Federal Law being obeyed. What a concept!

Yeah, she signed it, but has followed true to form in what few things she hasn't vetoed........"let me find what's wrong with it" which will be followed by confusion as to how to interpret it, administer it, and enforce it.

Although I don't know....if the "other camp" is threatening court action to stop it, it just might be something wonderful.

Who knows....this whole state just makes me sick anymore.
