My apology for some editing on the above post. This is the major point anti-illegal immigration groups should be pounding into the heads of the American people: We fought a ruinous war that practically destroyed the South and threw its peoples into poverty for decades following the outcome of The War Between The States. Didn't we learn anything! Are we willing to sacrifice another million Americans to set things right, again!

Corporate interests need to pony up to the true cost of labor. We cannot as a democratic society maintain a two tiered system of labor...legal and illegal. Remember the two tiered system we once had in this country called slavery? Remember how 'inexpensive' that turned out to be for the whole of the country?
You can blame that in part on the promotion of business and the downplay of labor unions for the past 20 years. Now we have no checks and balances among the blue collar worker wage bases. The tyrant business elitists are having a free-for-all. If some of them had their way, we'd be locked up in rooms for 12 hours at a time without breaks and made to work for .05 an hour.

You are absolutely right, h. And we are fighting daily to stop sending that mixed message. We want the borders closed to illegals and we want the existing illegal aliens out of this country. Period.
