“It’s Ben Carson’s turn in the spotlight,” said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.
Not sure what to make of that statement, but it doesn't sound like a proper statement from someone who is in charge of the poll.

Carson surges ahead of Trump in new Iowa GOP poll

Ben Carson has surged into the lead among Iowa Republicans, a new Quinnipiac University poll said Thursday.

Carson bumped national front-runner Donald Trump, who had led in Iowa polls last month. Carson, a retired neurosurgeon with strong appeal to the state’s conservative evangelical voters, had 28 percent, while the real estate mogul had 20 percent. Iowa holds the nation’s first presidential caucus Feb. 1.

Carson got a lot of help from women, and his image was sterling. Eighty-four percent of Republicans said he shared their values while nine of 10 said he was honest and trustworthy. He had a 33-13 advantage over Trump among women.

There was encouraging news for Trump. He led six national polls this month. And in Iowa, he was far ahead of Carson when voters were asked who could best handle the economy, taxes and illegal immigration. Carson tops Trump for his ability to handle social issues such as abortion and same-sex marriage.

Third in the Oct. 14-20 poll was Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., at 13 percent, followed by Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, at 10 percent.

Isn't that interesting that this group of people polled put social issues such as abortion and same-sex marriage above the needs of the American People and the American Nation? This doesn't make sense to me. I don't believe this poll properly represents the majority of the people of Iowa, which confirms further that there was something wrong with the poll and not some glaring difference of opinion among Iowa Republican caucus folks than Republicans in any other state.

Carson Surges Past Trump in Latest Bloomberg Politics/Des Moines Register Iowa Poll
    John McCormick
    October 23, 2015 — 6:00 AM EDT

Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson has moved into a dominant position in Iowa, surpassing former front-runner Donald Trump as evangelical Christians begin to coalesce around him in the state that will cast the first 2016 nomination ballots.

A new Bloomberg Politics/Des Moines Register Iowa Poll shows the retired neurosurgeon is backed by 28 percent of likely Republican caucus participants, up 10 percentage points since late August. Trump is supported by 19 percent, down 4 points.

Those planning to caucus for Carson are drawn to his personal story and his status as a non-career politician, the poll shows, and they view him as someone who approaches issues with common sense and with guidance from his faith in God.

“His standing has improved in every way pollsters traditionally measure,” said J. Ann Selzer, president of West Des Moines-based Selzer & Co., which conducted the poll. “This might be a wake-up for Donald Trump.”

The poll came from the Des Moines Register. this is the paper that Trump banned for liberal bias in July.

Yes, I knew they were an Anti-Trump newspaper, so I bet they influenced the poll.

The "Establishment" is hard at work trying to fix the polls to make Trump look bad.
