“Such a Joke”: Mike Pence Torn to Pieces for Absurd Airlift Plan

by Will about 7 hours ago

Notice: This article may contain commentary that reflects the author's opinion.
Mike Pence, appearing on Fox and discussing what the US should do to counter the Russian Federation’s invasion of the Ukraine, said that the US needs to not only transfer Polish MiGs and a multitude of anti-aircraft weapons to the Ukrainians, but also needs to send in a massive amount of humanitarian aid in a “Berlin Airlift for the 21st Century.”

Speaking on that call for a massive airlift while appearing on Fox and Friends, Pence said:
“We need a Berlin Airlift for the 21st century. We need to marshal the resources of the free world and make sure that the beleaguered people of Ukraine suffering under this invasion have the food and the water, and the medicine they need to prevail.”
“My wife, Karen, and I were in Poland two weeks ago. We went to the border and went into Ukraine with Franklin Graham and we saw the incredible heartbreaking images of women and children by the thousands coming across the border.”

Left unsaid was why America should spend billions of dollars and send American aircraft and aircrews into an active warzone, risking World War III and thus nuclear armageddon for a nation that isn’t even a US ally.
If Pence’s plan were to be adopted, American planes would be flying into an active warzone and just one getting shot down could turn into nuclear missiles flying back and forth. That doesn’t sound worth it.

In any case, Pence then continued, moving from a call for providing humanitarian aid in a risky way to providing more weapons to the Ukrainians. In his words:
“They’ve got pilots in Ukraine that know how to fly [the Polish MiG 29s]. But just as important, we need to continue to provide the kind of ground-based anti-aircraft systems that can take out Russian aircraft that are doing the high stratosphere bombing.”
    Continuing, he also said:
“We’ve got to give them the tools to be able to defend themselves. We’ve got to isolate Russia even more than was announced today, and we need to launch that massive Western humanitarian effort for the people of Ukraine. That’s the pathway to victory.”
“[…]Right now what we ought to be doing is redoubling our effort to give President [Volodymyr] Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian military everything they need to defend themselves. We need to continue to increase economic pressure.”

Darren Beattie, the creator of Revolver News and leading figure on the New Right, ripped into Pence for his calls for unnecessarily escalatory behavior, putting his view of Pence quite simply:
This guy is such a joke

The idea of a 21st century Berlin Airlift is an idea who’s time has come. With American Leadership and Strength, the people of Ukraine can prevail.

Indeed. Pence’s calls for the US to send military aircraft to Ukraine, both for the Ukrainians to fly and for the US to deliver aid like during the Berlin airlift, is crazy. Further, it’s unnecessary; handing off supplies at the Polish border is much safer and a few jets would likely do little for the Ukrainians when fighting against the much larger Russian Air Force.
Helping the Ukrainians is in America’s national interest; but doing so in a way that risks World War III is most certainly not. Pence is a joke for even suggesting it.

When is Pence and Franklin Graham going to visit our overrun border and go "visit" the millions of homeless living in filth in OUR country?

Did Pence go visit the tornado victims who now have NO housing? Did Franklin Graham go visit the burned out homes and all the fire victims in the West coast? The hurricane victims? The mud slide victims in America? The FLOOD victims in America?

Use our "tools" to stop the massive invasion of our country. Put our military aircraft on OUR border!

DEFEND our border...not the rest of the damn world!

Camp of Ukrainians at the U.S.-Mexico border swells, as more refugees arrive

By Jorge Duenes, Daina Beth Solomon and Kristina Cooke - Yesterday 5:48 PM

By Jorge Duenes, Daina Beth Solomon and Kristina Cooke
TIJUANA (Reuters) -Hundreds of Ukrainians are camping in the Mexican border city of Tijuana hoping to seek U.S. asylum, a surge in arrivals just days after the Biden administration said the United States would accept up to 100,000 Ukrainians fleeing from war.
Many of the Ukrainians escaping the Russian invasion of their home country have flown to the U.S.-Mexico border hoping officials will allow them in so they can reunite with U.S. relatives or friends.
People are spread out on blankets and lawn chairs alongside overstuffed suitcases on a patch of grass near the international port of entry. Some are sleeping in tents and under tarps.
U.S. volunteers in neon vests - some Ukrainian-Americans who traveled to Tijuana after hearing about the arriving refugees - are collecting names on a handwritten waitlist to keep track of arrivals.

While some 600 Ukrainians are camping near the border entry around 500 more are staying in hotels in the city, said Enrique Lucero, Tijuana's migration affairs director, citing the list kept by volunteers. About 40% of the people are children, he added.

Lucero said around 100 Ukrainians are being allowed to cross into the United States daily. U.S. Customs and Border Protection said data on the number of Ukrainians who entered the U.S. in March would be available in coming weeks.
The number of people at the southwest border is still small compared to more than 3.8 million Ukrainians who have fled to nearby countries in Europe since the Feb. 24 invasion, which the Russian government calls a "special military operation."
In response to the exodus -- the biggest refugee crisis in Europe since World War Two -- U.S. president Joe Biden pledged last week to accept some 100,000 Ukrainians into the United States through various legal pathways.

But some families desperate to leave have resorted to traveling through a string of countries to the southern border, after being denied U.S. visas, or told to wait, at U.S. embassies abroad.
While Ukrainians and Russians have been arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border since before the conflict erupted, now people are coming "very quickly," said Julia Neusner, an attorney with the New York-based non-profit advocacy group Human Rights First. [L2N2V61WR]

On average, Ukrainians are waiting about one day from the time they are put on the list compiled by volunteers until they can cross into the United States, Neusner said.

Two weeks ago, according to a Reuters witness, around 15 Ukrainians per day were arriving at the Tijuana border and being immediately waved through.
    RUSSIANS, OTHER MIGRANTS LEFT BEHIND
While Ukrainians are being ushered into the United States, U.S. border agents have told Russians, Mexicans, Central Americans and migrants from other countries to stay put, citing a pandemic-era border expulsion policy known as Title 42 that has closed the U.S.-Mexico border to most asylum seekers.
On Friday, the Biden administration announced it will end the expulsion policy in late May, as U.S. health officials said it was no longer needed to protect public health.
Inna Levien, 42 - originally from Belarus - said she and other Russian-speaking members of her moms' group in Orange County, California, headed down to Tijuana earlier this week to help Ukrainian refugees, many of whom speak Russian.
She said there is no running water at a local bus stop where some women and children are sleeping and children are falling ill.
"Vomiting, diarrhea, they are so stressed out, they are dehydrated," she said. "They have this unrest inside."
One six-year old girl told Levien she was praying to protect her father who stayed behind to defend Ukraine because it was her "job" to be his "guardian angel."
Valentina Shymanveska, a 56-year-old from war-torn Kharkiv in Ukraine, was grateful to be received in Tijuana after her city was pummeled by constant Russian bombardments.
"I couldn’t cry in Ukraine. I thank you even for my tears," she said. "For this place, this food, and the dream of life until [Ukraine's] victory."

Stephen Miller warns the southern border could turn into an 'illegal immigration apocalypse'

Opinion by Fox News Staff - 6h ago

Former Trump White House senior official Stephen Miller blasted President Joe Biden over the removal of Title 42, which has been used by both the Trump and Biden administrations to quickly expel migrants at the southern border since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak on ‘Hannity.’

STEPHEN MILLER: The southern border is the perfect place for new viruses and new variants and new evolutions of this disease to spread. People arrive at that border crammed into trucks, crammed into cars and tractor-trailers, piled on top of each other, sharing the same air. It's as dangerous as it can get from a public health standpoint.
That's why President Trump put in place Title 42, not only saving thousands of lives, but in the process fully sealing the United States southern border. As we speak at this moment, we already have 7,000 apprehensions a day— most of them released into the country, at least 2,000 so-called got-aways that we know of, plus many more than we don't know of. That's over 10,000— at least— a day crossing into this country. The decision to end what's left of Title 42 will turn our border from the peace, calm and total security of the Trump era into an utter nightmare and illegal immigration apocalypse. It will be that bad.

They carry infectious TB, AIDS, HIV, hepatitis, chicken pox, Ebola, CV19, scabies, lice, respiratory diseases, STD's, legionnaires disease, measles, and have a host of medical problems including diabetes, high blood pressure, tumors, cancer, pregnant, the list is long!

    Expel them all.

We are not the dumping ground for the world. We already give their countries billions of our dollars against our will.
