Homeland Secretary Shows Little Concern Over Open Border Terror Threat

Homeland Secretary Shows Little Concern Over Open Border Terror Threat

    Katie Pavlich | Sep 18, 2014

Former Obama campaign bundler and Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson testified in front of the House Homeland Security yesterday and was peppered with questions from lawmakers about the terrorism threat presented by a lack of border enforcement and security. As usual, Johnson gave unconcerned, non-detailed answers.

First off, what you didn't see in the clip above was Johnson's attempt yesterday to shill for illegal immigration reform as Americans raise more concerns about a lack of border security. During an answer to another lawmaker about how to prevent terrorists from going undetected inside the United States, Johnson made the absurd argument that a "legal process" for citizenship would prevent terror infiltration and encourage terrorists to come forward and turn themselves in. That suggestion is not only unhelpful but politically motivated garbage. Second, if Johnson got out of his cushy D.C. office once in awhile to actually talk to Border Patrol agents on the ground, he would know that radical Islamists crossing the southern border into the United States from Mexico is nothing new. Unfortunately, a lack of enforcement from Homeland Security to stop those crossings isn't new either. What is new in this scenario is a threat from ISIS and intelligence agencies have picked up chatter in the past few weeks showing the terror army is looking at the southern border as a possible way to gain access to the United States. Homeland Security officials have also confirmed this possibility in testimony to Congress.
Meanwhile, little has been done at the State Department to revoke passports of Americans knowingly fighting with ISIS in Syria or Iraq.

Report: Islamic Terrorists Captured At Mexico Border - Homeland Security Denies Any “Credible Threats”

    Mac Slavo 22 mins ago

A report from Joe Biggs in early September indicated that a terror threat had been identified on the Southern U.S. border just outside of El Paso, TX. According to Biggs, the Vice President of the Border Patrol Council was reportedly silenced by Federal administrators and told to keep quiet about the possibility of Islamic State militants organizing for an attack within the domestic United States.

For their part, the Obama Administration completely denied the reports. On Tuesday DHS issued the following statement:
“There is no credible intelligence to suggest that there is an active plot by ISIL to attempt to cross the southern border”
But less than 48 hours later the Gateway Pundit reports that the U.S. government did, in fact, apprehend four suspected terrorists with ties to the IS organization on the border.
Congressman Jason Chaffetz broke this shocking news Wednesday that four known terrorists were apprehended at the US border in Texas on September 10 – the day before the 13th anniversary of the 9-11 attacks.
Chaffetz questioned Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson on whether he is “aware of any apprehensions of suspected or known terrorists.”
    Johnson dodged the question.
Tonight, Rep. Chaffetz told Megyn Kelly there were four terrorists arrested crossing the US border in Texas on September 10.
“There were actually four individuals trying to cross through the Texas border, who were apprehended at two different stations, that do have ties to known terrorist organizations in the Middle East.”

According to a report from Fox News on Wednesday evening, additional credible threats have been identified and they are looking to strike Americans inside of the U.S. The report says that IS related terror cells have been given instructions to identify and slaughter American military personnel by locating them via social media networks:
A law enforcement bulletin obtained by FoxNews.com warned that Islamic State fighters have increased calls for “lone wolves” to attack U.S. soldiers in America in recent months, citing one tweet that called for jihadists to find service members’ addresses online and then “show up and slaughter them.”

In one example cited in the bulletin, a British jihadist encouraged radicals still living in the West to use Facebook and LinkedIn to find and target soldiers.

“You could literally search for soldiers, find their town, photos of them, look for address in Yellowbook or something,” the tweet read. “Then show up and slaughter them.”
Apparently, terrorist threats from lone wolves only matter if they are born and raised in the United States.
Local sheriffs and Border Patrol officials have been warning of terror threats on the Southern border for quite some time. Reports that individuals from Afghanistan, Iran and other hotbeds of terrorism have been captured crossing into the United States via Mexico have been circulating for quite some time.
The United States is still facing a major threat. You might be surprised to learn who agents are catching trying to cross the border from Mexico.

The above report was from May of 2010, so “credible threats” of terrorists attempting to use the southern border as an entry point into the U.S. is nothing new.
We now have confirmation from a U.S. Congressman who says that four people with suspected ties to terrorism have been apprehended in the United States on our southern border.
How is it, then, that DHS and the Obama Administration refuse to admit that a credible threat to America’s security exists?
All of this begs the question: What the hell is really going on here?
Is this a politically motivated denial in an attempt to downplay the gaping security hole the Obama administration has left in the Southern United States as a result of their immigration policies?
Or, as some have suggested, are certain officials within the United States facilitating the entry of these individuals who mean to do us harm in an effort to further the police state agenda that took hold after the attacks of September 11th?

BREAKING: Four Terrorists Captured on US Border on September 10 – Day Before 9-11 (Video)

Breitbart has more on today’s exchange at the Homeland Security hearing:
During a House Homeland Security Committee hearing today focused on worldwide threats to America, Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), asked DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson whether he is “aware of any apprehensions of suspected or known terrorists” who have attempted to enter the U.S. illegally during his tenure as homeland security chief. Johnson was sworn in as the fourth DHS secretary on December 23, 2013.
Rep. Chaffetz, who serves on the homeland security panel’s Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence, clarified that he was referring to whether known terrorists, suspected terrorists, or individuals with ties to terrorist organizations have been arrested trying to come into the country illegally.
“Sitting here right now, no specific case comes to mind,” responded Johnson. “That doesn’t mean there is none.”
For the record… Jeh Johnson was a top Obama campaign donor before he was appointed Secretary of Homeland Security.

DHS Chief Unable to Say Whether Terrorists Have Crossed Border Into U.S. Under His Watch

by Edwin Mora 17 Sep 2014, 1:31 PM PDT
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary, when questioned during a House panel hearing today, was unable to say with certainty whether a suspected or a known terrorist has illegally entered the U.S. through the Southwest border.

The DHS chief later emphasized, “Siting here right now, none comes to mind, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t one. Nor does that mean there is no investigation of one either.”
Rep. Chaffetz, who also chairs the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on National Security, told Johnson that four individuals with “ties to known terrorist organizations in the Middle East” were apprehended on September 10th trying the cross into the U.S. through two different stations in Texas.
When asked if he was aware of that situation, Johnson said, “I’ve heard reports to that effect. I don’t know the accuracy of the reports or how much credence to give them, but I’ve heard reports to that effect.”
Rep. Chaffetz’ office did not respond to Breitbart News requests to elaborate further on the circumstances surrounding the alleged September 10th apprehension of terrorism-linked aliens trying to enter the U.S. across the Texas border.

“I do agree with you that the challenge of those coming from countries other than Mexico particularly into the Rio Grande Valley sector [in Texas] is one I’m very concerned about. It’s something I’ve been concerned about since I took office in January,” the DHS secretary told Rep. Chaffetz. “I’ve seen it myself at our detention center in Brownsville when I visited there in January, there was something like 80 nationalities of illegal migrants present there.”
The congressman from Utah, citing an “internal” DHS document as the source, said that so far this fiscal year (Sept.1 thru October 30), the U.S. has apprehended aliens from 143 different countries trying to illegally enter the U.S., including 13 individuals from Syria, 6 from Iraq, and 4 from Iran.
Those countries have been identified by the U.S. government as having ties to terrorism.
Rep. Chaffetz noted that although nearly 466,000 illegal aliens have been apprehended so far in fiscal 2014, an estimated 157,012 have been identified as “got-aways” and 142,630 as “turn-backs.”
He went on to say that there were under 5 million border sensor hits in fiscal year 2013 compared to more than 6 million so far this year.
Rep. Chaffetz did acknowledge that animals in the area contribute to false positive hits.
The GOP representative questioned Johnson’s claim during the hearing that 70 to 90 percent of individuals who attempt to cross the border are apprehended.
Johnson then pointed out that the arrest rate varies by time and border sector.

LYING BASTARDS: DHS Forced to Admit to Terrorists Caught at Texas Border

    Posted on September 19, 2014

Chaffetz to DHS Sec.: Do you know of any known terrorists apprehended at the southwest border?

Did you ever learn when you were younger how to tell if someone was lying? Because this guy is definitely lying through his teeth. How is it that the DHS Secretary would not know about terrorists caught at the border? Check this out…

During the House Homeland Security Committee hearing yesterday, Congressman Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) caught Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Jeh Johnson off-guard when he began questioning Johnson about the situation at our southern border.

That’s when Congressman Chaffetz dropped the bomb. Not only did he explain to the Secretary of DHS that there were in fact reports of FOUR individuals with ties to terrorist organizations that were apprehended at two separate locations on the Texas border, but he also had information from an internal DHS document containing statistics on immigration activities.
