Democrat Claire McCaskill Gets a Single-Payer Supporting Primary Opponent

Democrat Claire McCaskill Gets a Single-Payer Supporting Primary Opponent

A woman planning to center her campaign around support for a single-payer health system has announced her plan to challenge Sen. Claire McCaskill in the state's Democratic primary, according to a report in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Angelica Earl, a 31-year-old Democrat, worked in the insurance industry as a verification specialist for insurance applicants under the Affordable Care Act. She is attacking McCaskill for her statement in support of looking for a bipartisan solution to health care.

"My stance is single-payer health care for all," said Earl, who intends to file the necessary paperwork for her run in the coming days.

McCaskill's stance on single-payer is much less clear than Earl's.

Earlier this year she said during a town hall that single-payer would be too expensive and is not realistic, but earlier this month she said she would "consider" it.

Politico reported on Monday that Democrats were becoming alarmed that supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.), a strong advocate for single-payer, would start launching primary attacks against the party's incumbent senators.

If when they are talking single-payer, they are considering something that bypasses insurance companies - it won't happen.

If they are talking reining in the exorbitant amounts charged by hospitals and doctors, and drug companies, it won't happen.

Insurance companies won't be put out of the picture, and healthcare corporations, doctors, pharma companies won't be transformed from unconscionable greedy corporations to corporations that are making a good, honest profit and providing good products and services.

    It won't happen.

It won't happen anytime soon, but who is to say what the future may bring should we continue to allow hundreds of thousands of future liberal voters pour into this country annually!

As to the immigrants, etc., coming, that goes without saying.

I was speaking to the people who might think it is a good idea for the US to have some kind of national healthcare as they do in some other countries.

When they were first talking a healthcare bill, you would be surprised at the number of supposed conservatives who thought it was a wonderful idea. They wanted to teach the insurance companies a lesson.

At the time, I suggested it wouldn't happen if insurance companies didn't benefit. It happened and insurance companies benefited - big time. As did all the others who wrote the bill.

We are too low in the corrupt slime pit to ever have anything like other countries. If it had been put in place years ago, maybe - but not now. The corporations have control of our government, and they are not turning loose.

This country's healthcare was not that bad. When Hillary care didn't pass, the legislature quietly put in place many of the provision of her plan. This caused the price of healthcare to explode and along with it, the price of insurance.

It was a very nice way for corporations and the government to grab a huge chunk of power and money.

Socialized medicine is necessary for control. The Clinton's have dragged a slimy trail of corruption and scandal with them since they first emerged on the political scene. From Whitewater, to the cattle futures, travelgate, the Lincoln Bedroom, Hillarycare,Vince Foster, Arkansas police scandal,Mena AK, military surplus sales, technology to China... and all that was in the 90s. The size of their wealth shows how much they have honed their skills. IMO

If you control a person's health, you control their lives. Just look at what happened in England to the baby.

We don't have socialized medicine, we have corporatized medicine.

The government, itself, really has little or no control. The corporations are writing the bills. The government just enforces their laws, and confiscates the people's money to pay for them.
