Merkel to Resign: ‘Wants to replace Juncker as European Commission chief’

Bavaria’s state election last weekend proved painful for German Chancellor Angela Merkel. In yet another election next week, Ms. Merkel is expected to see further discomfiture.
The German leader could resign from her post at the December CDU party conference in December in order to take another senior European position.
“Rumours are swirling in Brussels that Merkel could run for the European Commission next year”, Die Welt’s Stefanie Bolzen tells the BBC.
As Jean-Claude Juncker gets ready to retire as European Commission President next year, there have been suggestions that French President Emanuel Macron is considering a run, Italy’s fierce and most popular politician in Italy’s history Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini has also been asked to run, and now Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel could potentially be throwing her hat into the ring.
    May the best Italian win!

    Angela Merkel, Germany’s next dictator?

Back in 2016 before the elections Merkel did something uncharacteristically of her and admitted mistakes, though not for her asylum policies, of course.
With this unmatched talent of ignoring critics and determination to censor and sanction dissenting voices, a truly dangerous precedent for freedom of speech is being created
She was mainly talking about ignoring the refugee crisis and the need for a European solution for too long. “Because Germany has no external EU-borders we thought, that the problem would not reach us”.
A questionable statement to make considering there was no problem for Germany or the EU in the first place until the decision to open the borders was made. She also reiterated her infamous “Wir schaffen das” (We will manage) comment.
As more and more polls are coming in showing the Union (CDU/CSU) and the SPD at their lowest points ever with 25 and 14 per cent compared to the 34.1 and 25.7 per cent back in 2013 respectively. Merkel is getting more and more short-tempered.
She is now openly supporting sanctions against parties that spread misinformation. Of course Merkel is not talking about herself, her party the CDU/CSU and her coalition partner the SPD, who all spread misinformation about fictional hunts of migrants in Chemnitz.
The Chancellor even had the President of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution removed from his position for speaking out against her comments.
When the Young Union allowed itself a joke to gift her a couple of hiking socks and a raincoat for the stormy days ahead she chastised them. Not for their politics or anything of the sort but for having a male leadership.
At the Saarland CDU convention Merkel was supposed to help with elections but couldn’t stop herself from dictating acceptable talking points to them first.
The CDU leader demanded an end to the internal party discussion about the poor federal election result of 2017 and above all the refugee crisis of 2015.
It looks as though the Chancellor is mimicking European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and is now warning against nationalism as Merkel went on to warn about stereotyping select nations and to remain steadfast in their composure and convictions.
If Germany wants to stand up for its interests it could only do so in the European Union Merkel continued. Furthermore, Europe has to be protected and Germany would only do well in the long run if the EU does so as well.
This is nothing new, of course, as Merkel talked about giving away more sovereign rights to establish a NWO before. More recently on the 28th of June the chancellor stated EU laws supersede German law at the borders.
It might be somewhat hard to fathom but politicians like Ralph Brinkhaus of the CDU actually believe other nations envy Germany for Merkel’s leadership.
With this unmatched talent of ignoring critics and determination to censor and sanction dissenting voices, a truly dangerous precedent for freedom of speech is being created no longer just for the people but for their representatives alike by Chancellor Merkel.
