I agree with that 100 percent! Instead of blathering about comprehensive immigration reform, there should be resources put toward the comprehensive enforcement of laws on the books.

What is a crime is so many politicians want to sell out this country and not uphold THIS nations Constitution

WHAT IS A CRIME IS THE WAY OUR OWN GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS WANT TO CALL AMERICAN CITIZENS AND THEIR MILITARY PERSONNEL "TERRORISTS" OR "MILITANTS".

THAT IS CRIMINAL!

from the statute:

"Any alien who is apprehended while entering (or attempting to
enter) the United States at a time or place other than as
designated by immigration officers shall be subject to a civil
penalty of -
(1) at least $50 and not more than $250 for each such entry (or
attempted entry); or
(2) twice the amount specified in paragraph (1) in the case of
an alien who has been previously subject to a civil penalty under
this subsection."

The continued reference of the word civil is the confusing wording. Tourists who overstay a 90 day visa and start working here are in the country illegally but the statute refers to those who sneek in, appartently.

Such a prediction wasn't necessary because Obama made it clear that he would push for amnesty during his administration.

MW, I didn't pay much attention to Obama at first. Mostly that's because I presumed that any Democrat could beat any Republican and when Hillary Clinton announced her candidacy I presumed that she'd be the nominee.

I did see an Obama TV ad which include something to the effect that the same hands that pick our crops could also do a number of other things. Having lived thru Bill Clinton, I was certain that anyone over 30 could see that Obama's campaign was just a second round of Clintonesque hucksterism. Imagine my surprise

Even today part of me has difficulty believing that an American administration does not immediately announce that it's Americans first in the time of crisis.
