Eight-Time Deported Illegal Alien Busted with 850k Worth of Drugs in Utah

An eight-time illegal alien living in Utah was arrested after being caught with more than $850,000 worth of drugs over the weekend.

“On January 12, detectives with the Utah County Special Enforcement Team and deputies with the Utah County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a car for traffic violations,” reported KUTV. “Jose Olegario Lopez, 44, did not stop the car until law enforcement surrounded him.”

Lopez, who was driving with his 16-year-old son, was found with a small amount of cocaine upon an initial search. Using a K9, police officers then found a sealed box containing several individual packages filled with cocaine. The 2.35 pounds of cocaine were valued at $106,000.
The police also found 16.7 pounds of methamphetamine in another package, valued at more than $750,000.

Immigration's and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed that Lopez is an illegal alien, and that he has eight aggravated reentry violations, which is the crime of reentering after being deported. That crime is a felony with a maximum sentence of 20 years.

It is inexplicable that someone can commit such a heigh level crime eight times and still roam the streets freely. Of course, it is also inexplicable that the United States does not have a method of keeping illegal aliens from entering the country eight times in the first place, namely a border wall.
“Lopez was booked into jail on two first-degree felony charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute; a child endangerment charge; for failing to respond to the command of a peace officer; and a class A misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a press release,” the report said.
ICE has placed detainer on him, meaning that when he is released from prison, he will be deported, likely to return to America again.
