Should we start a tomato revolution?

    Friends,

As you can see here, I'm enjoying my new hobby of gardening.

    http://www.alipac.us/ftopict-118465.html

While I'm no pro yet, I do have three tomato plants that are just starting to bloom.

Before the latest outbreak of human disease contamination from Mexico in America's tomatoes, they were already selling for almost $5 a pound!

Tomatoes are so easy to grow. You can grow them in a garden, or just in your yard somewhere. If you don't have a yard, all you need is a planter or two on your patio or porch!

Perhaps we should start a tomato revolution and get people growing their own?

I have 2 large pots on my deck for tomatoes. It doesnt take much room to grow tomatoes and they are soooo good when home grown.

Just imagine the amount of food that has been lost. I would imagine that spegehtti sauces, ketchup, bbq sauce, prepackaged lazagne, speghetti o's, ravioli, and lots of other foods are part of the contanimation.

I only have a small space to have plants, but I have 6 tomato plants in big planters. They are really doing good, but we sure could use some sun and warmer temperatures here in Idaho. This rain is getting old. I can't wait for fresh tomatoes instead of these rocks they sell for tomatoes in the stores. Idaho is on the Samonelli (spelling) list, anyway.

I believe it's only the uncooked tomatoes that are infected.

If enough people around the nation started growing them and giving their extras away to friends, family members, and neighbors then a few thousand people could really cut into the demand for tomatoes at the stores!

Some people might even grown enough to be able to contribute to homeless shelters and churches.

I read in an Idaho newspaper this morning, that people are being asked to grow more produce to do just that.
