Monday is the last day to register to vote in California

Want to vote on November 8? You must be registered. The last day to register to vote in California is Monday, October 24, 2016.

Four ways to get registered:

1.) Fill out an online application
The online application is available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Hindi, Japanese, Khmer, Korean, Tagalog, Thai and Vietnamese.

2.)
Email the California Elections Division


3.) Call the Elections Division
at (800) 345-8683


4.) Pick up a paper voter registration application
at your county elections office, library, Department of Motor Vehicles office or U.S. Post Office.

Registration must be completed, postmarked, submitted electronically or hand-delivered no later than Monday, October 24, 2016.

Not sure if you’re registered? Check your status.


Do you need to re-register? Yes, if:


  • You move to a new permanent residence.
  • You change your name.
  • You change your political party.


Who’s eligible to register in the state?
You must be a U.S. citizen,
a resident of California
and 18 or older on Election Day (Nov. 8).
You can’t be a felon, or on parole for a felony conviction.
You can’t currently be found mentally incompetent by a court of law.
