British Police Confirm 19 People Dead After Reported Explosion At Manchester Arena

Police in Manchester, England, confirm 19 people dead at Manchester Arena following an apparent explosion after a concert by Ariana Grande. About 50 people have been injured.
The statement says police will treat the incident as a terrorist attack until they know otherwise.

The BBC reports witnesses heard an explosion, which was followed by a chaotic scene with audience members running for the exits.

Reuters reports that emergency services are responding to the reports of "a serious incident." Greater Manchester Police are advising people to "avoid the area."

A spokesman for the pop singer said that she was "okay," according to Reuters.

One witness, Josh Elliott, told the BBC Radio 5 Live that "A bang went off and everyone stopped and screamed. ... We basically hit the deck," he said. "It was bedlam ... it was horrific. We got up when we thought it was safe and got out as quickly as possible. People were just crying and in tears. ... Police cars were everywhere."

Manchester terror attack suspect identified as Salman Abedi

British authorities on Tuesday identified the suicide bomber who launched a deadly attack at a Manchester Ariana Grande concert, hours after ISIS claimed responsibility for the blast.

Salman Abedi, 23, was identified as the suspect who detonated an improvised explosive device at about 10:30 p.m. local time Monday, killing more than 20 people, some of them children, and injuring dozens more. At least 12 children under the age of 16 were injured, emergency responders said. An 8-year-old girl was among the dead.

TIMELINE OF RECENT TERROR ATTACKS AGAINST THE WEST

ISIS claimed on Tuesday that "a soldier of the caliphate planted bombs in the middle of Crusaders gatherings" then detonated them, but Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats said that the U.S. has not yet verified that the terror group was responsible.

The explosion happened outside Manchester Arena as Grande’s concert was coming to a close. The pop star, who wasn’t injured, reportedly suspended her Dangerous Woman Tour following the attack. She wrote on Twitter, "broken. from the bottom of my heart, i am so so sorry. i don't have words."

Politicians both at home and abroad condemned the attack. British Prime Minister Theresa May called the attack “appalling, sickening cowardice."

“We struggle to comprehend the warped and twisted mind that sees a room packed with young children not as a scene to cherish but as an opportunity for carnage,” she said.

President Donald Trump slammed those responsible for the attack as “losers.”

“I won’t call them ‘monsters’ because they would like that term… I will call them, from now on, ‘losers’ because that’s what they are, they’re losers.”

You can call them anything you want in public, but you can't call them Muslims and you can't say it has anything to do with Islam.

Chances were missed to stop the Manchester Arena bomber and MI5 had been warned, reports the Times. The paper says a relative of Salman Abedi told authorities he was "dangerous" and friends had reported him five years ago. Accomplices are being sought, in particular the bomb-maker, and a jihadist network, the paper reports.

The Daily Telegraph reports there were five missed chances to foil the bombing. The paper says the attacker was repeatedly flagged to authorities about his extremist views but was not stopped. It claims Abedi told friends that "being a suicide bomber was OK, prompting them to call the anti-terror hotline.

Find the bomb gang, says the Sun, before "maniacs destroy another family like this". The headline is alongside a picture of 45-year-old Michelle Kiss, who died in the bombing, and one of her daughter, 12, being comforted by a police officer.

The paper leads on the family of the attacker after Abedi's brother and father were detained by militia in Libya. Authorities should be questioned on the repeated warnings about Abedi and the family's supposed links to terror cells, says the paper.

Theresa May will confront Donald Trump over the leaks of intelligence about the attack, including forensic photographs of bomb parts, reports the Guardian. The paper says UK officials were infuriated and that the images are "clearly distressing to victims, families and other members of the public".

"No messing" is the headline on Thursday's Metro. The paper says almost 1,000 troops carrying SA-80 rifles took to the streets of London supporting officers policing key sites such as the Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace. The latest victim to be identified is an off-duty policewoman, reports the paper.

Denton County Sheriff Tracy Murphree's controversial post urged Americans to "pay attention" to the Islamic jihadists who "want to kill you".

His comments came after a suicide bomber killed 22 people and injured 64 at an Ariana Grande concert in the UK.

His remarks quickly drew both praise and outrage online.

"I stand behind it," Mr Murphree told a local NBC news affiliate on Tuesday. "We need to be realistic about the world we live in."

Mr Murphree wrote on Monday after the attack: "This is what happens when you disarm your citizens. When you open your borders without the proper vetting.

"When you allow political correctness to dictate how you respond to an enemy that wants to kill you.

"The left tells us we must submit and accept these radical beliefs and bend over backwards to make sure we don't hurt anybody's feelings."

"The left wants to cater to the very group that would kill every group they claim to support. Folks this is an enemy hell bent on killing you," he continued.

His comments came after a suicide bomber killed 22 people, including children, and wounded 64 others outside an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester.

The viral post quickly attracted hundreds of responses, with some thanking him for "speaking truth" and others accusing him of fear-mongering.

Some users also criticised Mr Murphree for using a terrorist attack to promote gun rights.

The local Council for Islamic Relations (CAIR) chapter called the post an "Islamaphobic rant".

But Mr Murphree pushed back.

"A lot of folks want to make it a race issue," he told NBC5. "And to me, it's not a race issue. It's a public safety issue."

The sheriff's controversial post was not his first.
Last April, while running for office, Mr Murphree was criticised for posting about North Carolina's transgender "bathroom bill".
The law banned transgender people from using toilets in accordance with their chosen gender.
Mr Murphree suggested he would assault any man who entered the same toilet as his daughter, sparking backlash among the transgender community.
He later told the local ABC affiliate WFAA the post "was a mistake".

Libya was on Trump's travel ban that the courts stopped. What if they'd traveled here? What if some of their family and/or friends have already traveled here?

All these senseless terror attacks are due to immigration without assimilation.

This will be USA's fate in coming years if we continue to take in muslims from muslim majority countries. You can see what Europe is experiencing due to taking in muslims in the 90's. In this case, they were taken in because the father was anti-Qaddafi. The libyans, iraqis, syrians, afghanis, somalians, pakistanies are from areas of the world that are ruled differently than western civilization. They degrade women and do not understand why women are not outraged to be surrounded by their like.

Their rulers have their own methods of dealing with their populace. May seem harsh but they overpopulate, are highly inbred and prone to violence, their rulers do what is customary for such lifestyles. People lived in tents before Qadaffi upgraded the country. Saddam had a bunch of crazies and did away with whomever he felt needed to be, etc, etc. Assad is trying to do the same - look at the size of their population, war is how they rid their masses.

To bring people into the west does not change them - maybe some but we are seeing, not enough.

To immigrate them due to "harsh treatment" or whatever they claim, and it is the UN that is forcing the influx, it has been for a few decades now. It is obviously globalists controlled, spreading islam and poor and should be stopped immediately. No more muslims in western countries. Stay in your own countries and fare there. Why doesn't the UN just go into their countries and take over, force human rights on their soil. Don't continue to dump problem people around the world - IT IS NOT WORKING!

You have young people being tortured, butchered in Paris at the Bataclan music concert, now you have teenyboppers blown up. This is an ongoing problem THAT STARTS WITH IMMIGRATION WITHOUT ASSIMILATION. It is a requirement in USA though not being enforced. So take note this is our fate in the future.

Take heed - do not buy the "refugee" influx movement and voice to your politicians, media we are not standing for it. Between the terror cells, diseases, overpopulating, social services dependent and eventually their entire family comes - 20x the numbers!

During the Vietnam War era, singer-songwriter Phil Ochs recorded a ditty called “Draft Dodger Rag,” in which he proclaimed that “if you ever get a war without blood and gore, I’ll be the first to go.”
It’s doubtful that even under those circumstances that these two “refugees” would be interested in returning home. Life’s too good in Denmark.

Salman Abedi took out several student loans to pay for his trips to terror camps to learn how to blow up children.

The Telgraph reported:
Salman Abedi is understood to have received thousands of pounds in state funding in the run up to Monday’s atrocity even while he was overseas receiving bomb-making training.
Police are investigating Abedi’s finances, including how he paid for frequent trips to Libya where he is thought to have been taught to make bombs at a jihadist training camp.
[…] One former detective said jihadists were enrolling on university courses to collect the student loans “often with no intention of turning up”.
Abedi was given at least £7,000 from the taxpayer-funded Student Loans Company after beginning a business administration degree at Salford University in October 2015.
It is thought he received a further £7,000 in the 2016 academic year even though by then he had already dropped out of the course. Salford University declined to say if it had informed the Student Loans Company that Abedi’s funding should have been stopped.
