"He had very strong beliefs about gun laws and stuff."

Pierson also appears to mock Republicans on another Facebook post, writing "you republicans are so cute" and posting an image that reads:

"The Republican Party: Health Care: Let 'em Die, Climate Change: Let 'em Die, Gun Violence: Let 'em Die, Women's Rights: Let 'em Die, More War: Let 'em Die. Is this really the side you want to be on?"

The teenage gunman who entered Arapahoe High School on Friday afternoon and shot two fellow students with a shotgun was outspoken about politics, was a gifted debater and might have been bullied for his beliefs, according to students who knew him.

Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson identified the gunman as Karl Pierson, an 18-year-old student.

"He had very strong beliefs about gun laws and stuff," said junior Abbey Skoda, who was in a class with Pierson during her freshman year. "I also heard he was bullied a lot."

Robinson said that his department was investigating reports that Pierson was seeking to settle a score with a teacher after a confrontation.

Even before authorities named the gunman, friends and neighbors were in shock as word spread that Pierson was a dedicated, bright student from a religious family that attends Bible study meetings.

"They're just a normal middle-class family, like many of the families around here," said neighbor Diane Shea.

On Friday night, neighbors huddled in the quiet Highlands Ranch neighborhood adorned with holiday lights to console one another.

Neighbors and students remembered Pierson as a track athlete and a member of the Arapahoe speech-and-debate team whose mother worked for the Douglas County School District.

In April, Pierson placed third in national extemporaneous speaking at the National Qualifying Tournament held at Cherry Creek High School, earning him a spot in the national tournament in June.

After the June competition, he wrote on Facebook: "Hey guys! I just got back from day 2 of nationals and I'm sorry to say I am not moving on, nor am I in the top 60 in the country. Thank you from everyone for your support, and have a great rest of the summer and hope we can send some more guys to nationals in Kansas next year!"

Jo VanDeWege, who has lived across the street from the family for five years, described Pierson's mother as outgoing and said the family was "very nice, very kind."

Pierson's parents divorced in late 2011, according to court records. The divorce was finalized in August 2012.

Thomas Conrad, who had an economics class with Pierson, described him as very opinionated.

"He was exuberant, I guess," Conrad said. "A lot of people picked on him, but it didn't seem to bother him."

In one Facebook post, Pierson attacks the philosophies of economist Adam Smith, who through his invisible-hand theory pushed the notion that the free market was self-regulating. In another post, he describes himself as "Keynesian."

"I was wondering to all the neoclassicals and neoliberals, why isn't the market correcting itself?" he wrote. "If the invisible hand is so strong, shouldn't it be able to overpower regulations?"

Pierson also appears to mock Republicans on another Facebook post, writing "you republicans are so cute" and posting an image that reads: "The Republican Party: Health Care: Let 'em Die, Climate Change: Let 'em Die, Gun Violence: Let 'em Die, Women's Rights: Let 'em Die, More War: Let 'em Die. Is this really the side you want to be on?"

Carl Schmidt and Brendon Mendelson, both seniors at Arapahoe High, knew Pierson. They said he had political views that were "outside the mainstream," but they did not elaborate.

Schmidt said the shooter "was an outspoken kid about what he believed and a good political thinker."

Mendelson added, "He did have a lot of friends. He was popular with the people he knew."

Sorry libs, he’s one of yours. I have no doubt he’s was fan of the The Muslim-In-Chief

Colorado School Shooter Another Violent Liberal,“Very Opinionated Socialist” Who Hated Republicans

Own it liberals, this guy is one of yours:

Pierson also appears to mock Republicans on another Facebook post, writing “you republicans are so cute” and posting an image that reads: “The Republican Party: Health Care: Let ‘em Die, Climate Change: Let ‘em Die, Gun Violence: Let ‘em Die, Women’s Rights: Let ‘em Die, More War: Let ‘em Die. While the usual suspects were using Friday’s tragic murder-suicide in Colorado to push their anti-America anti-gun agenda, others were looking a little closer at the shooter.

Karl Halverson Pierson, the 18 year old gunman, was targeting a teacher who reportedly kicked him off the debate team. Pierson shot a 15 year old, just before shooting himself dead. It’s been reported Pierson also had explosives.

What you aren’t seeing in the media, is the truth about who Pierson was; a vicious hate spewing liberal, exactly like those we encounter daily, online, in venues like Twitter.

    Australia’s News.com reports:

Mock Republicans“? Hell, that’s outright hatred, and all based on lies the democrat party spews daily.

Congresswoman Gabriel Giffords was also shot by a radical democrat, Jarred Lee Loughner, who had been stalking her since 2007. Loughner hated Giffords because she wasn’t radical enough! Loughner was ginned up by hate spewing liberals like Marcos Moulitsas, who owns the democrat party hate site, Daily Kos. Moulitsas put a bull’s-eye on Congresswoman Giffords, a “blue dog democrat” labeling her a sell out and traitor. Moulitsas also said she didn’t even deserve a primary. His words likely stoked the hatred Loughner had for Giffords.

It should be noted that Moulitsas was one of the very first hate spewing democrats who blamed Governor Sarah Palin and the Tea Party. As was the local sheriff, who REFUSED to enforce the numerous restraining orders against Loughner. To cover his ass, the sheriff was all over television blaming the mass murder on Governor Palin and the Tea Party, as the bodies of the dead were still war. The sheriff, of course, is a democrat, and a despicable human being.

Had someone been able to talk to this hate spewing liberal, and get through his shroud of ignorance, they MIGHT have been able to explain to him that America no longer has the free market Adam Smith assumed when talking about “self-regulation.” What we have now, thanks to the very liberalism and socialism, he seemed to have been so fond of!

    Also from the Post:

Carl Schmidt and Brendon Mendelson, both seniors at Arapahoe High, knew Pierson. They said he had political views that were “outside the mainstream,” but they did not elaborate.
Blogger Jammie Wearing Fool may have said it best:

Most liberals are outside the mainstream. They should seek help.

It should be noted that the Post edited the references to socialism out of their earlier report, and also tried to make the guy look “pro-gun” in their lead paragraphs. I guess they hoped casual readers would think this murderous democrat was a member of the Tea Party, like the media tried, with some success, after Congresswoman Giffords was shot.

One has to wonder, once this information gets out, will the media drop this story like it has lately with other shootings involving left wingers?

We need a much larger discussion on how to end the idiotic liberal policies that allow these murderous loons to prowl unchallenged, as they murder at will, but for now, let’s continue to pray for the victims, and pray that liberalism is defeated and set to the ash heap of history, once and for all time!

Denver Post Shamefully Omits Key Detail About Arapahoe High Shooter

    Matt Vespa
    On December 14, 2013
    http://noodlepundit.com/

Yesterday, there was a tragic school shooting in Colorado. It’s a painful reminder to residents who haven’t recovered from James Holmes’ rampage in Aurora last year.

Additionally, it was on the eve of the one-year anniversary of Newtown. The Denver Post’s Zahira Torres and Yesenia Robles reported on the profile of the Arapahoe High School shooter 18-year-old Karl Pierson, who got into an argument with his teacher.

The dispute was allegedly over Pierson’s expulsion from the school’s debate team. Yet, the Denver Post shamefully omitted the fact that the shooter, Karl Pierson, was ” a very opinionated socialist” in their story about this horrific event yesterday.

    This version comes via News.com.au:.

The updated one from the Denver Post:

That’s right – the Denver Post scrubbed that he was a “Socialist.” This aversion to report on Pierson’s political leanings is in start contrast to ABC News’ Brian Ross’ leap to conclusions last summer when he pegged Aurora shooter, James Holmes, to the Tea Party. It was a horrendous gaffe – and the Daily Show was there to give their analysis.

School gunman Karl Pierson liked debate, running, but acted "weird" at times

By Michael Martinez and Stan Wilson, CNN

updated 7:41 PM EST, Sat December 14, 2013

    STORY HIGHLIGHTS

    • Colorado school gunman Karl Pierson liked debate and cross-country running
    • But he alienated peers with talk about communism and winning every argument
    • "He was pretty geeky and nerdy, but in a charming way," friend says
    • One neighbor describes him as bright but a social misfit whose peers ridiculed him

Centennial, Colorado (CNN) -- To many of his neighbors, Colorado school gunman Karl Pierson was the wholesome boy next door who liked achievement and ran on the cross country team. He even worked on an Eagle Scout project two years ago.

To schoolmates, Pierson was known for his outspoken intelligence that served him well on the debate team. But at times, he acted "weird" and alienated peers with rants about communism and his aggressiveness to win every argument, they said.

One neighbor described him as bright but a social misfit whose peers ridiculed him. His mother had transferred him from another high school because of the mockery and altercations, the neighbor said.

Pierson, 18, opened fire Friday inside Arapahoe High School, where he was a senior. Claire Davis, 17, was wounded in a point-blank shooting, and Pierson, who apparently didn't know Davis, then killed himself in the library, Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson told reporters Friday.

    Arapahoe High School shooting

"He was a really smart kid. He was intelligent. He knew how to speak; he really did. I don't think I ever won an argument with that kid," junior Daylon Stutz said in the school parking lot on Saturday, when students were allowed to retrieve their cars.

Stutz, an offensive tackle on the football team, had known Pierson since the two shared a human behavior class when Stutz was a freshman and Pierson a sophomore. They worked on a class experiment together in which they went into the community and tried breaking unwritten rules, Stutz said.

"I did think he was a little weird, but I didn't think he was, like, bad weird," Stutz added. "He always kind of talked about how America was a communist country, how the government was, like, trying to take us over and stuff. I don't know, just some weird stuff that I didn't really pay close attention to, but nothing that alarmed me.

"He was definitely kind to me. I never saw him mean to anybody. He wasn't condescending to anyone," he said.

In Friday's shooting, Pierson was armed with a shotgun, a bandolier stocked with ammunition, a machete and three Molotov cocktails, Robinson said. Pierson fired five shots within 1 minute and 20 seconds, he said.

Pierson entered his school looking for the debate team's coach,CNN affiliate KUSA reported, citing Robinson. Piersonwas apparently seeking revenge against a faculty member because of a "confrontation or disagreement," the sheriff said.

High school senior Frank Woronoff said he had known Pierson since they were freshmen.

"He was the last person I would expect to shoot up a high school," Woronoff said.

"He was pretty geeky and nerdy but in a charming way, one of the nicest, most humble people I know," he added.

Senior Chris Davis, 18, was among many students Saturday trying to make sense of Pierson's shooting rampage.

"He was a weird kid," Davis said. "He's a self-proclaimed communist, just wears Soviet shirts all the time."

Pierson became easily aggravated, "always liked to be right" and didn't like losing, Davis said.

"It seems realistic, now, that he did it," Davis added.

The home where authorities believe Pierson armed himself is five miles from his school and appeared vacant Saturday. Its front door was sealed and boarded a day after federal agents raided the property and executed search warrants.

Why? Sheriff wants to know reason for Colorado school shooting

A man who declined to be identified in an CNN interview lives a few doors away and said he has known Pierson since he was a boy. In the last few days, the neighbor noticed Pierson driving at excessive speeds throughout their normally quiet, modest middle-class suburb.

The neighbor said Pierson's mother, Barbara, transferred her son to Arapahoe High School from nearby Highland Ranch High School because her son had been subjected to constant ridicule and physical altercations.

"He was socially awkward and just didn't seem to fit into the larger teenage groups, and I think that weighed on him," the neighbor told CNN.

Lessons of Columbine and other school shootings helped in Arapahoe

The neighbor said Pierson's parents had been separated for years, and Karl was living with his mother and younger sister.

"While Karl was socially a misfit around kids his age, he was intellectually bright and loved to debate in school," the neighbor said. "If he was disciplined in a debate class, that must have meant everything to him. It may have been trigger point."

Pierson was active in his community, KUSA reported.

He took pride in how he routinely won contests on his speech and debate team, the station reported. He showed off his first place and second place trophies online.

One neighbor described him as a "nice young man," the affiliate said.

In fact, the TV outlet interviewed him seven years ago about the design of a quarter commemorating Colorado.

Pierson submitted questions to the station in 2008 for a show about the Colorado Supreme Court and asked a question at a U.S. Senate debate in 2010, the news outlet said.

Arapahoe High Gunman: Republicans Are the Party of 'Let 'em Die'

by John Nolte 14 Dec 2013, 5:41 AM PDT 763 post a comment

Early news reports have identified the Arapahoe High School gunman as Karl Halverson Pierson, an 18-year-old student. Pierson is believed to be responsible for wounding one other student before shooting and killing himself with a shotgun. The Denver Post reports that Pierson had "very strong political beliefs" and that one Facebook post he authored tore into Republicans as the political party that wanted to let people die:

"[Y]ou republicans are so cute" his post reads, with an image that says: "The Republican Party: Health Care: Let 'em Die, Climate Change: Let 'em Die, Gun Violence: Let 'em Die, Women's Rights: Let 'em Die, More War: Let 'em Die. Is this really the side you want to be on?"
Pierson also described himself in a Facebook post as "Keynesian" when it came to economic thinking, and criticized free market thinkers:
In one Facebook post, Pierson attacks the philosophies of economist Adam Smith, who through his invisible-hand theory pushed the notion that the free market was self-regulating. In another post, he describes himself as "Keynesian."
Pierson's classmates described the suspected gunman's political beliefs as "outside the mainstream," and Pierson as "an outspoken kid about what he believed and a good political thinker." Another classmate said Pierson held "very strong beliefs about gun laws."
The Los Angeles Times quotes friends who described Pierson as an advocate for gun rights. In its lengthy report, The Los Angeles Times does not, however, include the information about the Facebook posts wherein Pierson describes himself as Keynesian or mocks Republicans as wanting people to die.
Apparently, Pierson was picked on in school but also "had a multitude of friends." Right now it is believed the shooting was motivated by a confrontation with a teacher, a debate coach who kicked Pierson off the debate team. The Los Angeles Times says "Pierson was kicked off the team and suspended from school in September for a few weeks after threatening the coach."
For an American mainstream media always eager to exploit tragedy for political gain, yesterday's horrific shooting will not give them much to work with. The gunman's politics have little in common with the Tea Party, and the state where the shooting took place, Colorado, passed almost all of the media's gun control wish-list about six months ago.
More bad news for the media came in the gunman's weapon of choice: a shotgun, which is also Vice President Joe Biden's weapon of choice.
As we have seen time and again, the length of the media's fascination with this kind of tragedy is directly connected to how much the media are able to exploit the event for political gain. As of right now, because there is nothing to mine for political gain, it looks as though the media will have forgotten all about this shooting by Tuesday or Wednesday.

Student On Arapahoe School Shooter: "Very Proud Of Being A Socialist"

    Video at the Page Link:

The gunman responsible for Friday's shooting at Arapahoe High School in Colorado is being described as a "socialist" by his fellow students.

"He was friendly enough. Very proud of being a socialist. He was very outspoken on his political views," student Angie Mock said. "To him, it just meant economic -- more economic equality."
