    My take:

This is a great choice IMO, unless I find out info to the contrary. I was hoping for Luttig, but this guy was my second choice. If he's being compared to Scalia then that's a good thing IMO. Of course the Dems are trying to slam him as being too radical. Like they should talk. Of course the Dems wanted Bush to nominate another left wing radical that will legislate from the bench. Thank god this time Bush didn't appease them. We might have dodged a bullet this time. Getting Miers to withdraw and getting this guy might prove to pay huge dividends for us. Well see how it turns out.

I heard supposedly he has a good track record on that issue, but I'll have to wait and get more info to be sure. So far I like what I've heard about him, but if I'm wrong it wouldn't be the first time.

I hope he's good, Dman. Maybe Private Bush was forced to do something "RIGHT" for a change.

That's the only reason why he picked this guy, the only reason.

I'm withholding my opinion until I hear more about him. I don't want ANYONE legislating from the Bench--neither from the right nor from the left. I would actually like to see a JUDGE who did what JUDGES were supposed to do--interpret the law. So, if Alito does that, he should be alright. If, on the other hand, he starts imposing his beliefs into his decisions, I won't be happy.
