California Health Care Coverage For Children:

SB# 32 (AB #1)

SUMMARY:
A bill proposed to make sure that all children in California have Health Care Coverage, Including children who are here illegally.

We already have a law on the books that provides health care coverage to eligible children, including the Medi-Cal program. Children through 18 years of age are eligible for health care coverage under these programs if they meet certain household income and other criteria including specified citizenship and immigration status requirements.

This newly amended bill would expand eligibility by allowing children with family incomes at or below 300% of the federal poverty level to qualify for the program and would delete the specified citizenship and immigration status requirements.
