Looks like 1980 and 1981 should be tied together. How can you have two recessions in two years like that?! Seems there wouldn't be enough time to completely recover from one before the second one hit.

I think Cantor knows that the high tech visas are just about undercutting american wages in this sector. But he is a politician and he needs some bargaining chips and he needs friends high up in the corporate structure. If we need to throw someone under the bus in order to get hard core anti-Illegal legislation then I say the computer programmers can look after them selves, and a deal could be done. The numbers are small in high tech and we would need big reductions in the blue collar end for the trade to make sense. But a deal could get done if the other side can deliver. We will see.

As far as I am concerned it is not negotiable. Microsoft, INTEL, AMD, Apple...all of these guys along with GE, have been selling out the US workers at all levels. I do not believe we should tolerate for one instant throwing ANYONE under the bus because a deal need to get done. That type of thinking is exactly why we have the economic and social problems we have today. It is unfair, it is wrong, and it is illegal. If companies are lying to the feds about their needs at whatever skill level, it is a violation of the law and should not be tolerated. This is why the RNC needs to be cleaned out. As bad as the DNC and Obama are, at the end of the day what the hell is the difference between them and Cantor, Boehner, McConnell if they are all liars and all are selling out the country?
