What I read doesn't support your first comment, which was:
I didn't see any statement backing your comment that the mother had "sole legal custody of both girls following the divorce."Quote:
The girls were 10 and 14, not 6, when Carly married their father. Their mother, Patricia Fiorina, had sole legal custody of both girls following the divorce, so they didn't live with Frank and Carly, they lived with their mother, and she raised them, not Carly.
Here is what I read:
Nothing said about "sole legal custody." Furthermore, it is clearly stated that Florina helped raise her husbands daughters. Maybe I missed something but i doubt the article would conflict with itself. Sole custody and custody are two different things.Quote:
Frank Fiorina had two daughters, Traci and Lori Ann, from his first marriage. Their mother, Patricia, was awarded custody of the two, following the divorce.[303] Fiorina helped her husband with raising his daughters.
I stand by my original comment that the article is hateful and disingenuous. It is very plausible that Florina considered these two girls as her very own.
Lori Ann was 35 when she died in 2009, according to the wikipedia link. That would make her 10 in 1985, not 6, when Frank Fiorina married Carly Bartlem.
The whole purpose of custody versus joint custody following a divorce involving children is so whoever is awarded custody has sole legal custody.

Like so many high-achieving young women, Lori also struggled with bulimia for years. Despite her repeated stays in rehab, the combination of bulimia, alcoholism, and drug abuse took its toll. She was divorced and living in New Jersey when she died.
Interesting. Carly wrote the above in a book about Lori Ann.
She also wrote:

We hadn’t heard from her in a couple of weeks. Frank had been in touch with the volunteer paramedics he had worked with in New Jersey, and they asked the police to check on her. She was 34 years old.
