CBP Introduces Biometric Facial Comparison at Progreso Port of Entry to Secure and Streamline Travel
Release Date: February 12, 2020
PROGRESO, Texas — U.S. Customs and Border Protection is introducing biometric facial comparison technology to further secure and streamline travel through the Progreso Port of Entry in southern Texas.
CBP will deploy biometric facial comparison technology to all pedestrian lanes at the port during the week of February 10, 2020. The technology will enhance the identity verification process for lawful entry into the United States.
When a traveler arrives at the pedestrian lanes, he or she will pose for a photo at the primary inspection point. A CBP officer will review and query the travel document, which will retrieve the traveler’s passport or visa photo from government holdings. The new photo of the traveler will be compared to the photo from his or her travel document. The facial comparison process only takes a few seconds and is over 97 percent accurate.
It is not mandatory for U.S. citizens to have their photo taken. U.S. citizens who wish to opt out of the new biometric process may notify a CBP officer when approaching the primary inspection area and request a manual document check.
CBP is committed to its privacy obligations and has taken steps to safeguard the privacy of all travelers. CBP has employed strong technical security safeguards and has limited the amount of personally identifiable information used in the new biometric process. New photos of U.S. citizens will be deleted within 12 hours. Photos of foreign nationals will be stored in a secure DHS system.
Facial biometrics bolster CBP’s entry and exit identification of travelers by enhancing CBP’s ability to secure the border, identify persons of interest and strengthen reporting and analysis of travelers entering and departing the United States. Since September 2018, CBP has used biometric facial comparison to interdict nearly 250 imposters who attempted to cross the Southwest Border using another person’s travel document.
The implementation of this technology is a direct result of recommendations from the 9/11 Commission, and addresses Congressional mandates to biometrically record the entry and exit of non-U.S. citizens.

Pass a "US-MEX Border Tollbooth Agreement"
Charge $2.00 per person entering North and South.
We use our revenue to pay for this technology, hire more Border Patrol, and use funds for immediate deportations of ALL illegal aliens back over the FIRST border they illegally crossed.
The U.S. taxpayers are not their Travel Agent, we are not their Uber Driver. NO more taxpayer funded free flights home any more!
Mexico let them in and Mexico can pay to ship them home!
Mandatory that Mexico uses their revenue to put gangs and cartels in their prisons. Use the revenue to create jobs and build new cities in Southern Mexico away from our border and clean up their border towns for more tourism.
The San Ysidro crossing would net over $5,000,000 a month alone.
We have over 50 Crossings with 330 Ports of Entry.
Get this Agreement drafted and to Trump for signature now!
We need this revenue and Mexico needs this revenue to clean up their country!

Tourist Cards: The Mexican government assesses a 170-peso (at press time, approximately $18 U.S.) tourist entry fee for each visitor entering Mexico for pleasure or on business.
The fee must be paid in order to have your tourist card validated if you plan to remain anywhere in Mexico for more than 72 hours, or stay less than 72 hours and travel beyond the 26-kilometer (16-mile) border zone.

I pay "fees" and costs for my drivers license, registration, and car insurance.
I also pay taxes on gas to maintain roads and freeways.
We are also charged TOLLS on a lot of our freeways.
PASS THE "US-MEX TOLL BOOTH AGREEMENT" TO MAINTAIN AND PAY FOR OUR OUR BORDER ENTRY POINTS.
MEXICO'S "TOURIST CARDS" DO NOT PAY TO FUND OUR BORDER.
