Charlie Crist Thinks Florida Seniors Losing Their Doctors is “Great”

Jim Martin: “Charlie Crist is a clear and present danger to all Florida seniors and their families if he again comes anywhere near the Governor’s mansion.”

(Alexandria, Virginia) – 60 Plus Association Chairman Jim Martin, leader of the nation’s largest conservative seniors organization with over 7.2 million senior supporters, including 800,000 in his home state of Florida, today responded to Florida Democratic gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist’s appearance on CNN this week where he denied that Floridians have faced any negative effects of Obamacare and called the law ‘great.’

Said Martin:

“With that CNN interview alone Charlie Crist has disqualified himself as a candidate for Florida Governor by exhibiting his appalling lack of judgment and grasp of basic facts. First we had Harry Reid saying that all Obamacare horror stories were “lies,” now we have Charlie Crist either deliberately lying or acting willfully ignorant to the millions of Florida seniors and families getting stung by Obamacare. There are people who form clubs to deny that man has ever landed on the moon, but they seem downright sane in comparison to the growing number of Democrat Obamacare deniers.

“By his own words, Charlie Crist thinks that seniors losing their doctors under Medicare Advantage, which was slashed by $300 billion to fund Obamacare, is ‘great.’ He thinks 300,000 Floridians having their health plans canceled by Florida Blue due to Obamacare is just fine. You know what Florida seniors think is great? A Governor not named Charlie Crist.

“Charlie Crist is a clear and present danger to Florida seniors if he again comes anywhere near the Governor’s mansion. He’s proven himself a shameless opportunist willing to switch teams and switch positions to keep his name in the spotlight and his face on TV. He doesn’t know the facts about the devastation that Obamacare is causing Florida seniors and he isn’t telling the truth.”

Democrat Charlie Crist Continues To Hold Commanding Lead Over Rick Scott In Florida

In a poll released on Wednesday by the University of Florida, Democrat and former Florida Governor Charlie Crist holds a 7-point lead over current Republican Governor Rick Scott. This is pretty much in line with other recent polls showing Crist with a comfortable lead over Scott as we start inching towards Election Day. The UF poll showed that Florida voters prefer Crist 47-40 over the current officeholder.

Another thing that the poll showed is that there is quite a bit of interest in this year’s election. 95% of those polled stated they had either strong or a fair amount of interest in the race for Governor. This would seem to indicate that Crist has an even stronger advantage than his poll numbers may show, as typically large voter turnouts turn into Democratic victories. Another big plus for Crist is that Floridians generally approve of his past performance as Governor. Crist was given a whopping 63% job approval rating compared to Scott’s 45%.

It also appears that Crist is reaching the lower and middle class voters more than Scott. 53% stated that they feel that Crist understands them and their problems. Only 39% feel that Scott understands them. Unless Scott can do something to turn around the voters’ sentiments toward him, it looks more and more likely that he is going to be a one-term Governor.

I have one question concerning the incredible obscenity of Charlie Christ leading Rick Scott in the pols by a big margin of 7%: are the Democrats using the Carpet Bombing strategy against Rick Scott?
