CHARLOTTE – Jovany Morales, the man accused of driving drunk, crashing and killing a man six years ago, is expected to appear in court Thursday.

Arrest records and court documents say Morales was the person driving back in 2004 when he hit and killed Frank Cline in a head-on collision. Morales was taken into custody, then posted bond but skipped out on his court appearances for six years.
It wasn't until he was arrested last week and charged with assault on a female that his involvement in the 2004 case resurfaced. Apparently, Morales had been living under the alias of Carlos Lopez Estrada.

Morales' bond hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday. The prosecuting attorney from the 2004 case is also handling this case.

But the district attorney has filed a motion to have Morales' bond revoked. They say he is a flight risk if he makes bond or falls into federal custody.
