Thread: Is President Trump being blackmailed into abandoning fundamental objectives?

I, as many other patriotic and freedom loving conservatives, was astounded to learn about President Trump’s early morning tweets in which he informed his followers he was pulling our troops out of Syria, and, “because of the tremendous dangers at the Border, including large scale criminal and drug inflow, the United States Military will build the Wall!”


In regard to President Trump deciding to pull out of Syria, Senator Graham noted on Twitter, it “would be a huge Obama-like mistake”, and, “While American patience in confronting radical Islam may wane, the radical Islamists’ passion to kill Americans and our allies never wavers.” Senator Graham went on to say “An American withdrawal at this time would be a big win for ISIS, Iran, Bashar al Assad of Syria, and Russia. I fear it will lead to devastating consequences for our nation, the region, and throughout the world.”


Of course it will. After our military has finally gotten things under control, and many Americans have lost their lives in this accomplishment, President Trump has decided to make the same kind of fatal mistake that he accused Obama of. . . withdrawing our troops and creating a vacuum to be filled by America’s most dangerous enemies.


We also have learned today that President Trump may very well cave into a continuing resolution to fund the government in which $10.6 Billion will be appropriated to Mexico’s and Central America’s governments who have been accomplices in an ongoing invasion of our borders and importing their poverty, criminals and drugs into our country. Not to mention this continuing resolution actually withdraws $1.5 Billion which was to go to funding the wall.


These actions by President Trump make no sense whatsoever and are a total reversal of his stated principles and policies which America’s conservatives embraced and placed their trust in. To suddenly make such a reversal suggests he may very well have been blackmailed into submission.


Is this thinking farfetched? Not when we consider how the Mueller investigation for “collusion” has obtained indictments and convictions for everything but “collusion”, and the real colluder with Russia, Hillary Clinton, goes untouched.

No, he's not being blackmailed.

The war in Syria is over. ISIS is defeated. Russia is there with Syria, more than enough firepower to keep the peace, kill the rest of ISIS, and rebuild the country with the help of Saudia Arabia and the Gulf States coalition all things that Trump arranged, negotiated and worked out over a year and a half ago. There's nothing we're doing in Syria worth $15 billion plus a year to the United States or American People. Trump campaigned on this, he's worked on this, it's all been arranged and settled in, and now it's time to pull the plug and come home.

Republicans don't have the votes in Congress to fund the wall.

GET US OUT OF THERE AND SEND THEIR REFUGEES HOME. THEY CANNOT STAY HERE FOREVER!!!

TERMINATE THE REFUGEE PROGRAM....PUT THEM IN "SAFE ZONE" NEAR THEIR COUNTRY.

I am not a fan of rebuilding other countries, but we invested so much in Syria, and to now leave and create a vacuum seems to be giving a great advantage to our sworn enemies.


Aside from that, and with refence to this continuing resolution, which actually removes money to build the wall, and reward Central America's and Mexico's gangster governments with

$10.6 Billion flies in the face of Trump's promises.

Gohmert says that despite claims from the Senate and House Republican Leadership, GOP lawmakers can pass funding for a border wall in an expedited budgetary process known as “reconciliation” that only requires a majority in the House and a simple majority of 50 votes in the Senate. There are 51 Republicans in the Senate.


“I know they convinced the president that ‘Gee, if you don’t have the votes in the Senate, then the House shouldn’t vote on it.’ That’s ridiculous,” Gohmert said.



“The way you get pressure on the Senate is to have the House pass the funding and then get every American that wants the wall burning up the phone lines to the Senate and the president out there on social media and on television saying ‘Let the Senators know, the Republicans will lose the majority if they don’t do this,'” Gohmert continued. “That’s how you get enough pressure to get it done, otherwise, it doesn’t.”

In fact, he can only veto a bill not containing money to build a wall and secure our border. This of course places the ball in Congress’ court and forces them to override his veto with a two-thirds vote in each House.

By not overriding the President’s veto, Congress would be shutting down government.

Looks like Trump has the cards and can snooker the open border crowd in Congress with a veto.
