A Latino political advocacy group with links to Hillary Clinton's campaign has been breached by hackers, according to Politico.

A staffer at the Latino Victory Project on Friday warned against opening emails sent by employees of the organization. The emails in question have the subject line "Very Important Documents." They include an attached PDF titled "Important Online PDF."

A Politico reporter received an infected email. When the reporter responded to ask if the email was legitimate, the response read: "Approved. It's safe document to view, Sign-in with your company email, The document will automatically download inside your email.”

Latino Victory Project spokeswoman Maria Gonzalez told Politico the group "was aware of the unauthorized emails that were sent to Latino Victory committee lists."

"We’re following up to determine the circumstances," she said.

The Latino Victory Project has endorsed Clinton, and its president is serving as Clinton's deputy director of voter outreach and mobilization.

The Victory Project is a movement seeking to elect Latino candidates to every level of government and make sure the voices and values of the Latino community are heard.
