Comprehensive Immigration Reform Illogic: Add 100 Million People To The USA In A Three Decades
Op-Ed Contributor

Most Americans remain horrifically out of touch with the ramifications of legal and illegal immigration. Erika Blum, Boulder, Colorado, last week, wrote the Denver Post about how, “Immigration reform isn’t a handout; it will strengthen the U.S. economy.â€Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented worker" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensed pharmacist"........

I come from a farm background and have been watching the farmland disappear around here due to the rapid population growth. Nebraska is part of the bread basket that feeds the world and it's imperative that it stays that way.

HippieChick, politicians are not exactly famous for making decisions based on principle. Nancy Unamerican & Co. are thinking only about the lock that legal illegals will give them on Congress.
It's possible that the loss of good paying jobs, combined with the current economic devastation, will make them pause. But make no mistake about it, unless we can get widespread agreement on the kind of country that we want, it will be only a pause.
I suggest that the fundamental principle for the formation of public policy should be, Americans and the quality of American life first in this magnificent country.

Remember to "fundamentally" change the USA you must increase population from under educated third world countries while eliminating seniors who may remember what freedom is/was, call it what you wish progressivism, socialism, communism, in the end it simply the death of freedom.
I'm old with many opinions few solutions.

I think it would be more than 100 million over 25 years, since illegals would continue to pour in, and many of these immigrants would have a half dozen children on our dime. I think we would have half a billion people here by 2040.
