MICHAEL SAVAGE: TIME FOR A 'NATIONALIST' PARTY

Says a 'King David' needed to unite voters against Dems, GOP

    by DREW ZAHN

Michael Savage, one of the nation’s most prominent voices in talk radio, said today America is “absolutely” ripe for a third party, in part, because the two largest parties in the U.S. have pulled a “charade” on the American people.

“There is no Republican Party,” Savage told fellow talk show host Aaron Klein. “It’s an appendage of the Democrat machine, as we’ve all just seen. It’s two-card Monte, as we well know. It’s a game being played against the American people. You’ve got the drunk Boehner on the one side, and the quasi-pseudo-crypto Marxist on the other, who is really just enjoying the ride in Hawaii right now, representing his factions.”

Instead, “We need a nationalist party in the United States of America,” said Savage on WABC’s “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio,” suggesting a party focused on “borders, language and culture.”

He continued: “You have the rudiments of a new party in this country called a tea party. They need to restructure their party. They need a charismatic leader, which they don’t have. When you say, ‘Tea party,’ no one knows who the leader is, because there is no leader. No man has stepped forward who can lead that party – no one who is an articulate speaker, a charismatic mover of people.

“The tea party is the rudiment of the new nationalist party,” Savage explained. “Somebody has to bring them all together, unite them like King David did the ancient tribes of Israel. And there is no King David out there. Who’s the King David? Tell me who is going to do it?”
    What about Savage himself?

“I could do it if I was 20 years younger. I would do it right now,” Savage told Klein. “But I’m not 20 years younger, and I don’t have 20 years left in me. This is going to require enormous resources and enormous energy. I can guarantee you, Aaron, if I ever did this I could raise probably $100 million within three months easily.

“There are people so frustrated by the democracy that is gone in this country, the structure that has replaced our democracy is what I meant to say, that they would clamor for the new nationalist party,” Savage said.
Savage also pointed out the term “nationalism” needs to be redefined, as it’s too often associated with Hitler and the National Socialist Party, the Nazis, of 1930s Germany.

This association, however, Savage claims is simply the design of the “internationalists” in the ranks of the left and leftist media who desire to “dissolve the sovereignty of nations.”

“Borders, language, culture has been my motto in radio from the beginning,” Savage explained. “Nationalism is the only thing that can save America, and a new nationalist party that has a very strict firewall that does not permit the radical fringe of racism.”

He continued, “Going forward we have to, I think on radio, continue to educate the audiences about nationalism and the importance of our nation and our nation’s sovereignty – borders, language, culture. Borders, language, culture – it defines every nation on the planet, the flag, the language, the borders. And what is it the internationalists do? They want to dissolve the borders, they want to introduce multiculturalism, they want to introduce a Tower of Babel of languages.”

Savage had much more to say in the interview, which can be heard in its entirety below:

Radio host Michael Savage calls for 'Nationalist' third party to challenge GOP

    By Geoff Herbert, syracuse.com
    on January 07, 2013

Conservative radio host Michael Savage spoke out against Republicans and Democrats alike on Sunday for pulling a "charade" on the American people, and called for a third political party.

"We need a Nationalist party in the United States of America," Savage said on WABC's "Aaron Klein Investigative Radio," according to WND.

The third-most widely heard talk show host, behind only Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity in ratings, explained a new, third "Nationalist" party could focus on "borders, language and culture."

"There is no Republican Party," Savage told talk show host Aaron Klein. "It's an appendage of the Democrat machine, as we've all just seen. It's two-card Monte, as we well know. It's a game being played against the American people. You've got the drunk Boehner on the one side, and the quasi-pseudo-crypto Marxist on the other, who is really just enjoying the ride in Hawaii right now, representing his factions."

The Los Angeles Times reported Saturday that Washington's budget battles show a widening divide in the GOP between its southern base and the rest of country. Almost 90 percent of Southern Republicans voted against the "fiscal cliff" compromise, while a majority of Republican representatives from outside the south supported the deal.

Savage wants the new party to challenge the Republican Party on the right of the political spectrum, BuzzFeed explains.

He criticized the Tea Party for lacking a "charismatic leader," saying it needs restructuring and calling it the "rudiment" of the new Nationalist Party. Savage added that the word "nationalism" needs to be redefined after previously being associated with Hitler and the National Socialist Party, the Nazis, of 1930s Germany.

According to BuzzFeed, the 70-year-old radio host said the new party needs someone to "unite them like King David did the ancient tribes of Israel" but declined to do it himself:

"Who's the King David? ... I could do it if I was 20 years younger. I would do it right now," Savage told Klein. "But I'm not 20 years younger, and I don't have 20 years left in me. This is going to require enormous resources and enormous energy. I can guarantee you, Aaron, if I ever did this I could raise probably $100 million within three months easily."

Savage, heard by some 8 million people each week on his show, disappeared from the airwaves at the end of September after winning a long legal battle with his employer, Talk Radio Network. A month later, he was back with Cumulus Media Networks as his new syndicator and returned to Syracuse's WSYR NewsRadio, airing weeknights from 9 p.m. to midnight on 570 AM and 106.9 FM.

Michael Savage should found just such a party and lead it with his radio show while he is still able to.

Third parties are a waste of time, money and resources.

The Constitution Party is as rock-solid conservative as any patriot could hope for, but the CP has gone absolutely nowhere in its over 20 years of existence.

Yet another third party would also go nowhere. If one did get big enough to be relevant, it would take enough votes away from the Republicans to give the Democrats permanent electoral domination.

Savage admits it would take 20 years to build a relevant third party, but quite frankly we don't have that much time left to save this country. We need to take back the GOP, not reinvent the wheel.

The problem with taking back the GOP is that it comes with hindrances. Specifically, Republican National Committee v. Democratic National Committee (12-373), a 30 year old consent decree that prohibits the GOP from contesting voter fraud.

At Supreme Court, no reprieve for GOP in voting rights consent decree

US Supreme Court on Monday turned aside a petition from the Republican National Committee to lift a 30-year-old consent decree. The decree requires the RNC to refrain from tactics that could suppress voting rights.

By Warren Richey, Staff writer / January 14, 2013

    WASHINGTON

The US Supreme Court declined on Monday to take up a request by the Republican National Committee to lift a 30-year-old consent decree that restricts the political party’s ability to enforce preelection ballot security programs that critics say would result in minority voter suppression.

The high court, without comment, turned aside the Republican Party’s petition.

At issue was a consent decree dating from 1982 involving allegations that Republicans had attempted to intimidate and suppress black and Hispanic voters in New Jersey in violation of the Voting Rights Act.

Similar allegations arose during the recent presidential election, with Republicans emphasizing the need to counter potential voter fraud and Democrats accusing Republicans of seeking to disenfranchise minority voters. The same fundamental difference in perspective is at the center of the legal dispute over the long-time consent decree.

In that case, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) filed suit in federal court in New Jersey challenging the Republican tactics. The case never went to trial. Instead, the Republican National Committee (RNC) agreed to abide by a consent decree that required it to refrain from preelection tactics that might deter qualified voters from casting ballots.

The decree was approved by a federal judge and has remained in place ever since, with some modifications.

In November 2008, the Republican Party sought to lift the consent decree to allow party officials more flexibility in pursuing election security programs. The judge, Dickinson Debevoise, rejected the effort. That ruling was upheld by the Third US Circuit Court of Appeals.

In urging the high court to examine whether the decree is still warranted, lawyers for the Republican Party said the arrangement had become onerous for the RNC.

“The ability of the Republican Party, as one of two national political parties, to conduct effective election observation programs is of national importance,” Bobby Burchfield wrote in his petition to the high court.

He said statutes in 21 states permit political parties to engage in “poll watching activities for the purpose of detecting and reporting fraud.”

DNC lawyers argued that the high court should allow the consent decree to remain in place. Evidence presented during the 2008 and 2009 litigation over the decree showed that the order is still needed today, they said.

“That evidence includes proof that the RNC violated the Decree in 1990 and in 2004, when it created voter challenge lists that targeted minority voters; that between 1997 and 2008, Republican candidates and party organizations had engaged in separate voter suppression activities in various states, including Texas, Arkansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin; and that the racially polarized voting that influenced the RNC in the 1980s persists today,” Angelo Genova wrote in his brief to the court.

“This substantial evidence stands in stark contrast to the RNC’s proffered ‘evidence,’ “ Mr. Genova added. He said the Republicans had made a “preposterous claim that because President Obama, Attorney General [Eric] Holder, and former RNC leaders Michael Steele and Boyd Rutherford are African-American, the RNC no longer has any incentive to suppress minority votes in violation of the terms of the Consent Decree.”

The case was Republican National Committee v. Democratic National Committee (12-373).

We don't need another dead end third party. We need better informed voters who are knowledgable of the issues and candidates. That's why I support organizations like Eagle Forum, as well as a number of key single-issue organizations.
