Rick (Open Borders) Perry lands seat on National Security Council

In shakeup, Rick Perry lands seat on National Security Council

    Updated 2:47 pm, Wednesday, April 5, 2017

U.S. Energy Secretary Rick Perry, the former governor of Texas, will join a group of other top Trump administration policy-makers on the National Security Council, the White House announced Wednesday.

The move is part of a shakeup that removed Steve Bannon, President Donald Trump's chief strategist, from the council's principals committee.

Perry, who served as Texas governor from 2000 to 2015 and a year ago was on "Dancing with the Stars," has served as energy secretary since his confirmation by the Senate in March.

Along with Perry, other additions to the council include the national intelligence director, Dan Coats, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Marine Corps General Joseph Dunford, CIA director Mike Pompeo and the United Nations ambassador, Nikki Haley.

The changes were announced in a national security presidential memorandum released Wednesday.

An Energy Department spokesman for Perry did not immediately return a call for comment.

Just my opinion, but this is not good news.

I do not know how he got appointed to anything. Personally, I suspect he has very strong ties to the Bush family - but that's just a hunch - no evidence whatsoever.

Well, it sort of makes sense to me. Energy is a huge national security issue. I would have assumed the Secretary of Energy was already on the National Security Council. And Perry would be good in this arena both from his military background, Governor of Oil and Border State and now responsible for our national energy programs that include nuclear plants, electric grid, oil and gas reserves in our war-time stock pile and more. When you think about it, it makes sense.

Most of us here like you aren't fans of Rick Perry because he supported amnesty and comprehensive immigration reform. I think he let his religion get in the way of what's right for our country, Religious beliefs don't always conform with what's best for national policy. How we believe and are taught to be by our religion and Sunday School classes, does not apply to national policies in most cases. If you try to mesh them, you will intersect with stupid and stupid wins every single time. Something I learned a long, long time ago!

. . . The Secure Fence Act of 2006 was passed by Congress and signed by President George W. Bush on October 26, 2006.

The government of Mexico and ministers of several Latin American countries have condemned the plans.[15] Rick Perry, governor of Texas, also expressed his opposition saying that instead of closing the border it should be opened more and through technology support legal and safe migration. . .

In 2006, I wasn't a strong a supporter of the fence or a wall. I wanted a Wall of Americans guarding the border. 20 Americans on average per mile working 24 hours a day on 3 shifts, 6 per shift per mile with 2 floaters for holidays, sick leave and so forth. A corps of 40,000 earning $40,000 a year, $20 an hour x 2,000 hours a year, plus 25% in benefits for a total package of $50,000 a year. That's $2 billion a year plus another $1 billion a year for supplies, equipment, weapons, supervision and training, $3 billion a year to secure the border without a fence or wall. If we'd done that, we would have spent a total so far of $33 billion and saved US taxpayers over $113 billion a year x 11 years = over 1.2 TRILLION DOLLARS just in benefits paid to illegal aliens, saved tens of thousands of Americans their lives and saved over 10 million US jobs for American Workers.

The stupidity of our country being led by idiot politicians just continues to astound me.
