There is a humanitarian crisis currently taking place along our nation’s southern border.
Thousands of illegal immigrants, many of them unaccompanied children, are flooding across the border, completely overwhelming our border security system, which already has the Border Patrol’s hands tied due to the Obama administration’s immigration policy, or lack thereof.
Texas is now making moves to secure the southern border themselves, something they have done previously for brief periods, since the federal government has made no effort to secure it like they are supposed to.

We are now hearing word that militias across the nation are considering mobilizing to assist in gaining control of the border, much like some militias mobilized to help defend the Bundy Ranch in Nevada from the overreaching BLM earlier this year.
An alert went out across the internet recently in response to Texas’ announcement of a “border surge”, encouraging the Texas militias to converge on Laredo to secure that sector of the border, according to Breitbart.

There are an estimated 500 militia troops already guarding the border in Arizona, and some militias in Arizona, Oklahoma, and other states across the country are offering their assistance to the Texas militia, if they are invited to come help.
Not everyone is pleased though, and according to the Tea Party.org, there are questions about whether the Texas government would welcome the help of the militias in their border surge or not, with some claiming the Governor wants to work with them while others are telling them to stay away.

State Rep Steve Toth (R-The Woodlands) spoke to Texas Department of Public Safety Director, Colonel Steve McCraw about the militia groups coming to Texas. On a Facebook chat thread this morning Toth said, “Steve McCraw is not looking for anyone to show up on the border to help DPS or the Guard. If you would like to join the Guard we would love to have you but don’t show up on the border to help it will only cause confusion and lead to someone getting hurt.”

Texas would be wise to accept the assistance being offered by the various militias, as they can provide much needed manpower. Likewise, it would also be wise of the militias to defer for now to the wishes of Texas, coordinating their efforts with the Texas DPS, and ensuring that they aren’t acting as vigilantes.
Hopefully Texas will be able to gain control of their border, putting a stop to the current crisis of children flooding across the border. Many of the people coming across are sick with communicable diseases, and while our Border Patrol and Immigration officials are focused on helping the children, cartels, smugglers and criminals are moving back and forth with ease, conducting their criminal activity.
The border must be secured as soon as possible. The security of our nation depends upon it.

BREAKING: Texas Sends Armed Troops to Defend the Border

The border crisis that Obama has manufactured for political purposes only seems to be getting worse, as illegals pour in hoping for amnesty and being dumped at bus stations in Texas and Arizona by the feds.
Texas has had enough of it, which is why they’ve decided to stop waiting on the feds to do their job and just shut down the border themselves.
The state’s Republican leadership has approved of $1.3 million per week in additional border security to stop the wave of illegal immigration into Texas.

This will include the deployment of armed Department of Public Safety Troops to defend the border.
Via America’s Freedom Fighters:

Gov. Rick Perry, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst and House Speaker Joe Straus said in a joint statement that spending on the “law enforcement surge operations” comes as the result of “the absence of adequate resources to secure the border.” The surge would continue until year’s end.
Last week, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott asked the U.S. Homeland Security Department for $30 million so Texas could send more state troopers to the border.
“Texas can’t afford to wait for Washington to act on this crisis, and we will not sit idly by while the safety and security of our citizens are threatened,” Perry said in the statement.

If the feds won’t do it, it’s up to states like Texas to take care of business and secure the border. This is a good example of how states can take matters into their own hands and fight back against Obama’s total lawlessness at the border.

Texas better devise a plan to use militias, incorporate then as special deputies, or if it does get nasty, they may wish they could get them, is the way that I see it. DPS turning the screws down will likely force some of the aliens to try another border, and I have no idea how many militiamen are out there. I would assume it may be first come, first sierve. If Perry wants to confront Obama, manpower will be key! Is history repeating itself? The Tennesseans helped defend the Alamo, this may be a case of all manpower happily received again.

Across the nation, especially in Texas, citizen militia groups are responding to the current invasion (yes, that's what it is) of illegals on the southern border of the United States.

This sounds totally American and Constitutional to me. After all, it is constitutional militia, not National Guard or DHS, which are supposed to repel invasions. However, some elected representatives just don't understand the Constitution.

Bob Price reports, "State Rep Steve Toth (R-The Woodlands) spoke to Texas Department of Public Safety Director, Colonel Steve McCraw about the militia groups coming to Texas. Price also reported, "Another leader of the conference call said there are 500 militia troops currently deployed on the Arizona/Mexico border. She declined to specify where they are deployed. She also confirmed they have "boots on the ground" in the Laredo sector at this time."

This call comes just weeks after milita from across the US traveled to Nevada to stand with rancher Cliven Bundy against an armed to the teeth federal government over alleged fees owed by Bundy. That standoff ended with the feds backing down.

Instead of the federal government repelling the invasion at the border, they are becoming more complicit in facilitating it. They are engaging in humanitarian efforts while the Obama administration has limited the ability of the US Border Patrol in dealing with illegals crossing the border into the US.
The Obama administration has no desire to secure the border at all; neither do the Democrats nor do many of the Republicans in Washington, even though they provide the rhetoric.

However, citizen militias are the Constitutional means for dealing with this issue, and this is, in part, why we have the Second Amendment, to preserve a free state.
Specifically, Article I, Section 8, Clause 15 of the US Constitution states that the citizen militias are "to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections, and repel Invasions."
Keep in mind that many of these crossing our borders are carrying serious, contagious, infectious diseases, according to a Border Patrol Agent. This is a danger to our society, not just economically, but physically and health wise.
The call for militia not to come, but rather to join the Guard is the wrong answer. It is unconstitutional at its core. This goes hand in hand with the assault on the Second Amendment as well.
In 1789, it was Representative Elbridge Gerry, who in debate on what would become the Second Amendment, wrote, "What, sir, is the use of a militia? It is to prevent the establishment of a standing army, the bane of liberty. Whenever Governments mean to invade the rights and liberties of the people, they always attempt to destroy the militia, in order to raise an army upon their ruins."

In fact, these fall under the funding of Congress. Does anyone else hear of Congress funding citizen militia? I didn't think so, but they are funding all sorts of unconstitutional things. However, according to Toth, Texas Governor Rick Perry told him, "Texas can't afford to wait for Washington to act on this crisis, and we will not sit idly by while the safety and security of our citizens are threatened."

At least Perry isn't going to wait around for the feds to do their jobs when they've demonstrated that they aren't concerned with doing the job they were sent to Washington to do.

As tens of thousands of illegal immigrants continue to flood America’s southern border, states along that border have been forced take corrective action where the Obama administration refuses to do so.
Arizona is considering a lawsuit against the federal government in an attempt to force border security by those responsible for it, whereas Texas has taken more direct measures by deploying armed agents to key areas as part of the announced “Texas Border Surge.”
Thus far, those efforts have been insufficient to reverse a situation that seems to be spinning out of control. Both American civilians and Border Patrol agents have found themselves in danger not only from illegal immigrants and violent cartels, but now also from the Mexican military as well.

Now civilian militia groups are providing additional manpower in the form of hundreds of members who are attempting to mitigate the humanitarian and security crisis by sealing at least part of the nation’s border with Mexico.

Citing public safety in an already confusing situation, Texas officials have attempted to discourage militia members from taking responsibility for border security, suggesting that interested members enlist in the Texas National Guard instead.
While the potential safety concerns seem valid, an actual public safety concern already exists and must be addressed immediately–a porous border allowing illegal Mexican smuggling cartels to move drugs and immigrants into this country almost at will.
While a few dozen militia troops in Laredo, Texas may have little impact in securing the border in the near term, those same troops enlisting in the Guard–if they are even eligible–are guaranteed to have absolutely no such impact for months.
Meanwhile, let us not forget whose “leadership” is responsible for creating this crisis in which patriotic Americans feel compelled to defend their nation when Washington won’t.

BREAKING: Militia Units Have Arrived at the Border

United States Customs and Border Patrol have been completely overwhelmed by the endless waves of tens of thousands of illegal immigrants flooding across the southern border.
The federal government is doing little, if anything, to respond to the developing humanitarian crisis, focusing instead on dealing with the thousands of unaccompanied children instead of stemming the flow coming across the border.
Texas has stepped up and announced a “border surge” to secure their border with Mexico by themselves, sending more law enforcement agents and armed troops in an effort to shut down their stretch of the porous border.

Various militia units in Texas and across the southwest have responded to Texas’ call to action, sending out an alert to other militia groups rallying them to the border, and are hoping to assist Texas in their efforts, according to Breitbart.

The alert to the civilian militia groups, which includes many groups who showed up at the Clive Bundy ranch in Nevada, calls on all able bodied militia members to converge on the Laredo sector of the Texas/Mexico border.

There are already approximately 500 militia troops deployed along the Arizona/Mexico border in undisclosed locations, according to one militia group leader.
It is hoped that the Texas authorities will accept the assistance being offered by the militia groups, and will utilize their eyes, ears and manpower in the Laredo, Texas area, among others.
Provided the militias defer for now to the Texas authorities and act in a lawful way, there shouldn’t be any issues with their keeping a watchful eye on the border and providing much needed help.
The border must be secured as soon as possible. It is not only children and illegal immigrants looking for work that are flooding across the border, but also cartel and gang members, drug and human smugglers, and even terrorists. The crisis on the border is not only a humanitarian issue, but a national security issue.

When a president blatantly refuses to carry out the duties of his job, what do you do? If you’re part of the Patriots Information Hotline militia group, you team up to git ‘er dun yourself!

Case in point: Led by Patriots Information Hotline founder Barbie Rogers, an estimated 50 or more patriots from across this great nation congregated in the Texas border town of Laredo this past week “to create a blockade against illegal immigrants,” reports Newsmax.
They, much like us, are utterly fed up with the president’s incompetence when it comes to properly dealing with the surge of illegal immigrants pouring into this country.
“The government promised us a wall down there years ago,” Miss Rogers told Newsmax. “The money . . . was supposedly given to put this wall up, and it’s not there. Where is it? Where’s the money at? The government needs to start having accountability to the people.”
Unfortunately, the thought of the Obama administration actually taking responsibility sounds as realistic as the notion of a fat-free pepperoni pizza. It’s just not happening, which is why it falls on us the people to defend OUR border!
With that said, we at DownTrend definitely appreciate Miss Roger’s initiative. We also urge all of you to consider checking out the call to action on her website. Keep in mind that defending the border comes with some serious risks:

“The situation these men are walking into – they have a very good possibility of being shot by the drug cartels down there, and gang members down there, and also by our own government down there.”

Quite true! Just the other day, in fact, a Mexican military chopper flew across the border and fired at Border Patrol agents. And according to Katie Pavlich over at Townhall, these sorts of incidences are far more commonplace than they ought to be.

Going to be a huge gambit on this one. The Militia don't stand a chance unless they are armed and willing to use force including deadly force. Yet doing so may play right into Obama's hands to take away guns from Citizens and also to give a big play on how horrible this illegal aliens have it back home and *racist teapartiers* hate Hispanics. On the opposite side it pushes for Congress and the House to shove through impeachment charges which so far they have failed to do because they feel its DOA in the Senate. It also pushes the Military to risk taking a stand against Obama who would likely try and use the same military to keep Citizens from stopping illegals. Other risk is if drug cartels attack or kill any Citizens in the Militia it will be further hot press to get our military on our own border armed and ready.

But with Militia on the border eventually something bad is going to happen. Some Patriots are going to get hurt one way or another but the sad thing is that this may be the only way.

I also honestly think we can't even wait until next year let alone when we get a new President matter who wins. After primary elections IF some key Reps lose that support Amnesty they may try and shove it through the House. If Reps gain control I'd think Obama will try and act on his own quickly and not just on the illegal alien Amnesty issue but numerous other far left liberal agenda issues such as removing guns, and forcing a stronger control over the courts.
