Sen Gregg (R-NH) speaking about SCHIP. 7:03am PT.

Sen Gregg just made reference to the fact that 'illegal immigrants' could achieve coverage under the current SCHIP bill. He said he wonders if this is some sort of 'backdoor amensty or something'.

Summary: all senators behind funding for the families that really need the help. Don't want a single-payer plan, and one that only gives benefits to those that truly need and deserve it (citizens, low-income).

Cornyn (R-TX) speaking on wandering subject matter from DoD Appropriations Bill. Not happy that so many other issues have come up.

RB, You are correct - he is not happy.

Also mentioned the possibility of a CR (Continuing Resolution) would have to be used to keep government running until Budget / Appropriations formally passed.

We need to watch to make sure Kennedy doesn't get a hate crime amendment stuck in this bill. If he does, he could make an arguement for everything we do here against illegal immigration.
