how can ICE do anything if they get shat on all the time_ by the way
they were using stolen social security cards from dead and living americans- and they say they are members of the community- does Potter plan to help those who have had their ID stolen?

MAYOR POTTER STATEMENT ON ARRESTS TUESDAY (6/12)

I am angered by this morning's arrest by federal officers of approximately 150 Portland residents who were
working ! at a local produce company.

I certainly understand why federal officials executed criminal warrants against three individuals who stole and sold Social Security numbers. But to go after local workers who are here to support their families
while filling the demands of local businesses for their labor is bad policy. It also serves as a reminder of the failure of our national leaders to deliver an immigration policy that is both fair and humane to families and acknowledges the economic realities of our country.

Our nation would be better served if this kind of energy was focused on creating a comprehensive approach to immigration reform that provides a path to citizenship; addresses the immigration backlog that keeps
families apart; and provides a safe and legal way for workers to enter our country and be productive workers and taxpayers.&nbs! p;Immigrants provide more than mere labor in our community. They have long enriched our
history, our culture and our city. My heart goes out to families dealing with the aftermath of this morning.

In this morning's raid, no Portland police officers participated, and our Crisis Response Team was activated to help families affected.

Mayor Tom Potte, of Portland doesn't care about the Americans who had their identities stolen and used by these criminal illegal alien "workers".

Could the poor folks whose identities were stolen sue the Del Monte company and/or the county that aided and abetted the criminals? I know I sure would try!
To expound on this same subject could people sue local and state gov'ts when they are victims of crimes by illegals ? Maybe that is one way to get our elected officials to take notice- they are usually attentive when money is involved.

PS- How can that mayor say he understands arresting the three who stole and sold the SSIs.Weren't the others who bought and used them just as guilty?

I read on another post where they only detained around 100 out of the 550 for deportation. Did't they buy stolen credit cards. I would be thrown in jail for that and they wouldn't think twice about my family.

Here's the Constitution of Mexico. If you peruse or use "edit - find on this page" and use keywords, you will find that all the laws Mexico has governing foreigners in their country are true.

It will take time to track all of them down but it is the only way since the U.S. Embassy Mexico has taken down the link to the translation of Mexico's immigration laws as has the Mexican government.

Tom Potter did say all that shit and to those who don't know, the entire Immigration problem going on at this point in time is very Bi-Partisan, Liberals, Democrats, Republicans, and Conservatives alike, most of them, agree that no amnesty shall be granted and that the U.S. needs to do something about the massive and constant growing problem of illegal immigrants.

Already there have been protests from young bleeding hearts about this possibly breaking up families. If their families miss them, they can join them in their home country.

When are all those opposed to amnesty for illegal immigrants going to protest that the government, our elected leaders, are trying to undermine, any way they can, the will of the American people? Is anyone going to email or write or protest the office of Portland's Mayor: Tom Potter? This guy is as bad as George W. Bush and he's only been Mayor for two and a half years. Just look at his track record for wanting to put most of the city's decisions in his official power. We are in more trouble politically than we suspect.

They should have a recall and get rid of the mayor unless most of his town are illegal and the rest of them have stolen id's and can vote. Did they say it happened in Portland or outside of Portland?

Having been privileged to read your statement regarding the Del Monte raid, I felt it necessary to contact you from my home in North Carolina.

Sir, how can you be so blind to the facts as to actually voice your support in any form or fashion for the "rights" of illegal invaders? Even if these people were entitled to equal protection under the U.S. Constitution, at best they would be felons subject to arrest and incarceration. Your arguments in support of their position are a pitiful testament to your apparent lack of logical thinking, and therefore evidence that you do not truly belong in a position of leadership in your community. You remind me of the millions of parents who think it is more important to be their child's "friend", because it is easier and less painful than fulfilling their obligation to discipline and lead by example as a "parent".

Sir, shape up or ship out! America needs leaders with leadership ability, and illegals need correction and deportation. When your time here on earth is ended, God will be your judge. While you're here as mayor, it is the (legal) voter's who pass judgment!

Oh, don't worry.....If a North Carolina politician takes the position you have, I promise he too will get a little trip to the woodshed. Americans are FED UP with this issue and elected officials at every level are going to find their proper place under the microscope from now on!!!

Meltdown, this is incredible!! This is the first I have heard of this raid and I keep up with the newsources here.

As for Potter, this does not surprise me, as Potter is the biggest bleeding heart lib there is, he rides bike with all of those anarchists who go around riding their bikes and kicking peoples cars and buses in protest of vehicles over bikes, so Potter supporting a bunch of illegal lawbreakers and attempting to play it off as humantitarian, is not beyond the scope of Potter the anti-American, self-hating leftist he is.
