Dem Senator In Full Retreat:'I Will Vote Tomorrow To Repeal ObamaCare to Save My Job

    Conservative Daily

America, this is how desperate you need to make Democrats before the next election.

And then you need to vote them out anyway...

Democrat Senator In Full Retreat: 'I Will Vote Tomorrow To Repeal' ObamaCare (If It Will Save My Job)

You know Democrats are getting desperate when they throw ObamaCare completely under the bus. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) said this week that he now supports getting rid of the troubled healthcare law entirely.
“I will vote tomorrow to repeal [the Affordable Care Act], but I want to fix the problems in it,”Manchin told an audience in his home state.
To his credit, the senator said in July — before ObamaCare’s disastrous rollout — that he thought it needed more than just minor tweaks. “This is not a trim job,” he said of what he called needed changes to the bill. “This is a pretty good haircut that has to be looked upon.” Then, in November, he added this:
“[ObamaCare] is “more than a rollout problem — there is a product problem.”
Still, watching Democrats come around to the stark realization that, as was the case in the 2010 midterms, they may very well face a comeuppance in November is fascinating.

Democratic Sen. Manchin walks back 'repeal' comments on ObamaCare

    Published February 21, 2014
    FoxNews.com

Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin reportedly said this week he’d vote to repeal ObamaCare -- but on Friday walked back his comments in a statement put out by his office.

According to The Beckley Register-Herald, the West Virginia lawmaker and longtime critic of ObamaCare said Wednesday “I will vote tomorrow to repeal (ObamaCare), but I want to fix the problems in it.”

As those comments started to gain traction, Manchin’s office sent out a statement that seemed to contradict what he said.

“I have never supported repealing the Affordable Care Act because I came to Washington to find solutions to our country’s problems,” Manchin’s statement said. “We cannot go back to the days when millions of Americans were uninsured and nearly twenty percent of our GDP was spent on healthcare, while only being ranked 43rd in the world in health and wellness outcomes. “

Manchin has a long track record of criticizing ObamaCare, including raising objections to the individual mandate to buy health insurance.

He reiterated that concern in his statement on Friday.

“We should be working together to identify which parts of the law are broken and need to be fixed,” he said. “We may learn that some parts of the law can’t be repaired, and we should eliminate those parts entirely. I wasn’t here when this bill passed, and the easiest thing I could do as a Senator is to vote no on everything, but the people of West Virginia sent me here to solve problems, and I will continue to work to solve the problems in the health care bill.”

Calls to Manchin’s office for further clarification were not immediately returned.

Liar Joe Manchin Votes For Obamacare His Second Month in Office

Posted by Jim Hoft on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, 5:57 AM

In late 2010 Joe Manchin released an ad painting himself as a gun-toting conservative who was ready to repeal Obamacare and vote against cap-and-trade.

Of course, it was all a lie.

Liberal democrat Manchin voted for Obamacare last week with the rest of the democrats.

    Creating Orweillian World View reported:

In a 47-51, party line vote with two Senators Lieberman (CT) and Warner (VA) abstaining Democrats proved that there is no such animal as a Conservative Democrat.
The utter failure of the Republican Party’s ability to politic like Democrats in order get votes from the other side notwithstanding, not one Democrat voted to repeal Obamacare even if their constituencies demand its repeal.
Sen. Claire McCaskill (MO) voted with Democrats against 71% of her fellow Missourians who cast ballots against Obamacare last August. Sen. Ben Nelson’s (NE) state is 2-to-1 against Obamacare yet he voted with Democrats blocking Obamacare’s appeal.
Joe Manchin represented himself as a conservative to be elected Senator of West Virginia over his Republican challenger John Raese. West Virginians now know that had they elected a Republican they would have been one vote closer to repealing Obamacare. (see article)
Of course, the fact that a liberal democrat would lie through his teeth in order to win an election surprises no one.

Manchin Vote Against Obamacare Repeal Makes Pro-Life Democrats Extinct

Sadly, the U.S. Senate lost its last-standing pro-life Democrat today when Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia betrayed his long-held pro-life convictions to vote against the repeal of the pro-abortion Obama healthcare law.

Manchin will join the company of Democrats like Senator Bob Casey of Pennsylvania and Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska, stalwart supporters of the right to life throughout much of their careers who also recently bowed to party pressure and sold out the pro-life advocates who put them in office. (Incidentally, the group Democrats for Life of America opposed repeal while every other pro-life group favored it).

As governor of West Virginia, Joe Manchin never wavered in affirming the rights of unborn children and their mothers. Just last May, Manchin signed into law a bill that provides West Virginian mothers the option to view an ultrasound prior to obtaining an abortion.

Manchin’s vote today not to repeal Obamacare, which mandates taxpayer funding of abortion and poses grave threats of rationing, may actually signal the end of his political career. Obamacare is incredibly unpopular in West Virginia. In 2010, West Virginian Democrats ousted Rep. Alan Mollohan (D) in the Democratic primary for his vote for the pro-abortion healthcare law. Mollohan had served 14 terms in the US House of Representatives.

Barely edging out a victory over pro-life Republican John Raese in the 2010 special election for his Senate seat, Manchin will be vulnerable in 2012 when he has to run for reelection. If Manchin had bucked his party and stood by his pro-life convictions, he would be looking at a much smoother ride back to the Senate. But as a result of this vote, Manchin just became one of the most vulnerable Senate Democrats and a primary focus of pro-life advocates in West Virginia going into the 2012 election cycle.
