Thread: DHS-No promise of Arrest on Illegals in Hurrican areas

I was justing watching Foxnews and they are reporting that the DHS never said or agreed that they wouldnt arrest illegal immigrates. According to the DHS Dir they will arrest those in the hit areas according to him, well we will see.

That is amazing news. When you think about it, Vicente Fox was the only person to say that illegals wouldn't be arrested and deported, wasn't he? We'll have to see what happens here.

Maybe the 39% approval rating is getting their attention.

Well maybe people in law enforcement have had enough--I know several who are fed up with being told they cannot do the job they were hired to do. What kind of president tells law enforcement that they can only enforce this law or that law, but not this other law over here? It's absolutely outrageous and when a sitting president gives the Law the stiff middle finger--it's seriously bad news. Unprecedented

Yes, I wake this mourning to feel a bit like Rip van Winkle, the guy who slept for 20 years in the Catskills, and then woke to find his world changed, in many ways he had no use for.

It is important to set the incremental destruction of our Country aside, and for those of us old enough, live in the memory of an America where this chaos was not a reality. Where the words we lived by actually existed and meant something. Live there in your memory, then wander the America we are in now.

If outrage does not ferment, then go check in to an Alzheimers clinic.

People today view outrage and emotion as a sign you may be unbalanced. I look at it as a sign you might be alive and your brain might be functioning. The somnambulism that has overtaken vast portions of the American public can only be described as a form of mass drugging or psychosis.

[JURIST] The US government has so far held back from making any guarantee to illegal immigrants caught up in aftermath of Hurricane Katrina [JURIST news archive] that they will be able to seek help from federal agencies without fear of arrest on immigration grounds. After the September 11 terror attacks, federal authorities made it clear that illegals who had been victimized or who had lost family or friends could seek help freely. A spokesperson for the US Department of Homeland Security said Thursday that "[n]o one should be afraid to accept our offers to provide safety", food and medical support, but would go no farther, although DHS officials have also said on Spanish language TV that "we are not going to ask you who you are or what you are because our priority is to save lives." Mexican President Vicente Fox says the US has agreed not to prosecute and deport Mexican nationals [AP report] found to be without documentation during the recovery process, but this has not been confirmed by US sources and it's not clear if all federal departments will comply. Estimates by the Pew Hispanic Center set the number of illegal immigrants in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama at between 20,000 and 35,000. AP has more.

I don't think they have anything to worry about.

I will just put it in Layman's Terms. DHS is saying that there going to continue the Half A job that they have been doing. And when the Citizens wake up or something really bad happens. Then there plan is to blame some Governor of Mayor for it.

Exactly; thats all they will ever do.

No amount of emails, letters, faxes, phone calls will change that.
