    Dear Editor,

Anyone calling a federal office gets “dial 1 for English, dial 2 for Spanish.â€

In my town I am the language limited person apparently. An Illinois Federal Congressman is sponsoring an Immigration and Financial Information Fair at one of our schools this Saturday.

On the flyer that my children brought home it stated that most of the sessions would be conducted in Spanish and an English translator would be provided if needed.

    If needed....

Fedup, I SO wish I was in your area, I would be there along with as many people as I could and make a HUGE stink about that, it is beyond ridiculous.

My Brazilian friend carped one day that she was SICK and TIRED of having to dial "one" for ENGLISH and dial "two" for a FOREIGN language. A few Hispanic racists confronted her over this but my friend STOOD FIRM! "ANY language OTHER than English IS a FOREIGN language in the UNITED STATES of AMERICA--including SPANISH!"

It is getting insane, as a few stores I go to ask you to select English or Spanish before swiping the credit or debit card. Next thing you know it will be a selection of every language in the world. I just hope that English stays #1 and doesn't get pushed back to 4397 or something else I can't remember.
