On Friday, two agents of the Digos witnessed gendarmes accompanying two migrants alight from a van on Italian territory.
After the version provided by Paris, the Minister of the Interior continuing the diplomatic case: “How successful is an unprecedented offence. It can not be considered an error or an accident”.
The Minister of the Interior Matteo Salvini rejects the justification by France on the Claviere case, continuing the current diplomatic rift between Rome and Paris.
Last Friday two Digos agents saw French gendarmes accompanying two migrants from a van. They were unloaded covertly in Italian territory, in a wooded area on the road that leads from Claviere to Cesana in the upper Valle di Susa.
After the requests for clarification from Rome, Monday evening, Paris provided its version of the facts: “It was a deplorable mistake, the gendarmes did not know the place”.
“Abandoning immigrants in an Italian forest can not be considered an error or an accident,” replied Salvini on Tuesday.
The Turin Public Prosecutor has opened a file on the matter after receiving the information from the Digos. The agents, as reported to the ANSA from investigative sources, photographed the van and noted the license plate number.
On the French front, the Prefecture of the Hautes-Alpes Department said that “the first checks carried out confirm this crossing, in contrast to the provisions in force.
It seems that the Bardonecchia police station was properly informed in relation to the transfer of two foreigners.
A joint investigation was requested by the General Inspectorate of the National Gendarmerie (IGGN) and the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN) to clarify the terms of this intervention”.
