A Houston doctor who made false statements about the coronavirus in a video that was removed from Facebook, Twitter and YouTube this week has previously made other unfounded claims about medical conditions, sexual contact with spirits, the U.S. government, children's television shows and more.

Stella Immanuel appeared in a video this week published by the right-wing outlet Breitbart News.

The video shows people in white lab coats holding a press conference in front of the Supreme Court in Washington, D.C. The group calls itself “America’s Frontline Doctors,” and in the video, Immanuel argues that “you don’t need masks” to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

She also claims that studies showing that hydroxychloroquine is not effective for treating the disease are “fake science” and sponsored by “fake pharma companies."

President Trump posted versions of the video on Twitter on Monday; they were later removed by the social media site. The president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., also tweeted the video, and Twitter announced that it has limited his account for 12 hours.

But Immanuel, who is a licensed physician in Texas, according to the Texas Medical Board, has previously claimed on YouTube and in articles on her website that gynecological problems, such as endometriosis, cysts and infertility, are caused by individuals having sex with demons and witches in their dreams.

Immanuel's claims were first reported by The Daily Beast.

Immanuel has said in sermons on YouTube that widespread gynecological issues are caused by sexual contact with “spirit husbands” and “spirit wives.”

Immanuel said in a 2015 sermon that alien DNA is used in medical treatments.

In another 2015 sermon, she claimed that researchers are currently working on a vaccine to prevent individuals from being religious.

In the same 2015 sermon in which she referenced alien DNA, she said the government is run by “reptilians,” not humans.

She has also said that popular children’s television shows and toys are being used to expose children to witches and spirits. She specifically cited the Harry Potter series, Pokémon, the shows “Wizards of Waverly Place” and “Hannah Montana,” and more.

She also said that Magic 8 Ball toys introduce children to witches.

The video blocked by social media giants this week uses footage from a speech Immanuel gave at the Supreme Court at an event called the “White Coat Summit," according to multiple reports.

The physician said at the event that she has treated hundreds of COVID-19 patients with hydroxychloroquine, the anti-malarial drug that has often been touted by Trump.

After the videos were removed from Facebook, Immanuel tweeted, “Hello Facebook put back my profile page and videos up or your computers with start crashing till you do. You are not bigger that God. I promise you. If my page is not back up face book will be down in Jesus name.”

She previously called for visitors to her clinic to wear a mask or face covering in a promotional video from April.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has called on all Americans to wear masks or face coverings to stem the spread of the pandemic.

Multiple studies have found that hydroxychloroquine is not effective at treating COVID-19 and can cause adverse effects, such as heart rhythm irregularities.

The president is pushing the coronavirus theories of a Houston doctor who also says sexual visitations by demons and alien DNA are at the root of Americans’ common health concerns.

A Houston doctor who praises hydroxychloroquine and says that face masks aren’t necessary to stop transmission of the highly contagious coronavirus has become a star on the right-wing internet, garnering tens of millions of views on Facebook on Monday alone. Donald Trump Jr. declared the video of Stella Immanuel a “must watch,” while Donald Trump himself retweeted the video.

Before Trump and his supporters embrace Immanuel’s medical expertise, though, they should consider other medical claims Immanuel has made—including those about alien DNA and the physical effects of having sex with witches and demons in your dreams.

Immanuel, a pediatrician and a religious minister, has a history of making bizarre claims about medical topics and other issues. She has often claimed that gynecological problems like cysts and endometriosis are in fact caused by people having sex in their dreams with demons and witches.

She alleges alien DNA is currently used in medical treatments, and that scientists are cooking up a vaccine to prevent people from being religious. And, despite appearing in Washington, D.C. to lobby Congress on Monday, she has said that the government is run in part not by humans but by “reptilians” and other aliens.

Immanuel gave her viral speech on the steps of the Supreme Court at the “White Coat Summit,” a gathering of a handful of doctors who call themselves America’s Frontline Doctors and dispute the medical consensus on the novel coronavirus. The event was organized by the right-wing group Tea Party Patriots, which is backed by wealthy Republican donors.

In her speech, Immanuel alleges that she has successfully treated hundreds of patients with hydroxychloroquine, a controversial treatment Trump has promoted and says he has taken himself. Studies have failed to find proof that the drug has any benefit in treating COVID-19, and the Food and Drug Administration in June revoked its emergency authorization to use it to treat the deadly virus, saying it hadn’t demonstrated any effect on patients’ mortality prospects.

“Nobody needs to get sick,” Immanuel said. “This virus has a cure.”

Immanuel said in her speech that the supposed potency of hydroxychloroquine as a treatment means that protective face masks aren’t necessary, claiming that she and her staff had avoided contracting COVID-19 despite wearing medical masks instead of the more secure N95 masks.

But footage of the speech captured by Breitbart was a hit online, becoming a top video on Facebook and amassing roughly 13 million views—significantly more than “Plandemic,” another coronavirus disinformation video that became a viral hit online in May, when it amassed roughly 8 million Facebook views.

But both Facebook and Twitter eventually deleted videos of Immanuel’s speech from their sites, citing rules against COVID-19 disinformation. The deletions set off yet another round of complaints by conservatives of bias at the social-media platforms.

Immanuel responded in her own way, declaring that Jesus Christ would destroy Facebook’s servers if her videos weren’t restored to the platform.

“We call them all kinds of names—endometriosis, we call them molar pregnancies, we call them fibroids, we call them cysts, but most of them are evil deposits from the spirit husband,” Immanuel said of the medical issues in a 2013 sermon. “They are responsible for miscarriages, impotence—men that can’t get it up.”

Immanuel warned that the Disney Channel show Hannah Montana was a gateway to evil, because its character had an “alter ego.” She has claimed that schools teach children to meditate so they can “meet with demons.”[/COLOR]

I thought her idea to test the urine of Dr. Fauci and others for the presence of hydroxychloroquine was brilliant. Bill Gates, Dr. Fauci and friends may prefer making billions of dollars from vaccines rather than using a readily available, cheap alternative with an over sixty year history of use for malaria, lupus, arthritis, and more. Hydroxychloroquine is currently being used by numerous frontline health workers, doctors, their families, everyday people as a prophylactic or early treatment for coronavirus.

It took Donald Trump only a few days to abandon his so-called tone shift. After just a few days spent vouching for the utility of masks and acknowledging the severity of the ongoing pandemic, on Monday the president retweeted a post from Stella Immanuel, a Houston doctor who touts hydroxychloroquine as a solution for COVID-19. “Covid has [a] cure,” read the tweet. “America wake up.” Twitter removed the post for violating its misinformation policy, but not before the president’s oldest son posted a video from the same doctor asserting that people “don’t need a mask” to combat the pandemic. Donald Trump Jr.’s account was temporarily suspended, disciplinary action his father dodged because he didn’t post Immanuel’s clips directly to the site. The social media company restricted access to Trump Jr.’s video and requested that he take it down, writing in a statement that “Tweets with the video are in violation of our COVID-19 misinformation policy.”

There was a time when Trump said or tweeted the word “hydroxychloroquine” seemingly every other day. But his obsession had died down of late, after several studies suggested the drug is not effective when used on coronavirus patients. On Monday night, however, he came back strong, retweeting another tweet accusing Dr. Anthony Fauci of lying to Americans about the effects of the drug, and rekindling, via Immanuel, his skepticism of protective masks. Immanuel helped fan the flames, going so far as to “double dog dare” Fauci to send her urine samples to prove he’s taking hydroxychloroquine himself. Fauci, who appeared on ABC’s Good Morning America this morning, denied the accusations. “I have not been misleading the American public under any circumstances,” he told the network, adding that hydroxychloroquine’s “overwhelming prevailing clinical trials” indicate that it is “not effective in coronavirus disease.” thank

But the doctor and self-proclaimed deliverance minister has a history of medical quackery. Another one of her fears is that medical officials and scientists are using “alien DNA, to treat people” and are plotting to force microchips on the world’s population.

Despite her Trump-promoted claim that masks are an unnecessary precaution, Immanuel, in a Facebook video advertising her medical services, advised prospective patients to put on “a mask, or a scarf, or anything to cover your face” before seeking treatment at her clinic. During her Monday appearance lobbying Congress in Washington, according to the Daily Beast, she maintained that employees at her clinic avoided contracting COVID-19 by using medical masks, though at least one recent video of Immanuel on the job appears to show her wearing an N95 mask.

Now, Immanuel seems ready to capitalize on her moment in the Trump orbit. “Mr President I’m in town and available,” she wrote in a Monday night tweet. “I will love to meet with you.” During his coronavirus press conference on Tuesday afternoon, a reporter asked Trump about Immanuel’s past claims, such as doctors making medicine using “DNA from aliens.” Trump said Immanuel was “very impressive” in the hydroxychloroquine video he tweeted. “I thought her voice was an important voice,” he added, “but I know nothing about her.”
