Is Donald Trump Damaging the Republican Party
Is Donald Trump Damaging the Republican Party
Ken Crow
August 14, 2015
So far in this 2016 Presidential contest, probably the most shocking result is the meteoric meltdown of the Governor Rick Perry campaign. It was predicted that Perry would come out of Texas with a couple of chrome plated 44’s blazing and plenty of old-fashioned bravado and gravitas. So far all Perry has been able to produce is a whimper and some whining about how mean the New York megaphone candidate Donald Trump is to illegal criminal aliens. It now appears that Perry might very well be the first out of this massive Republican royalty field of contenders.
Rick Perry is but one of the Republicans who have historically been the “brash and outspoken” candidates in any race. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is another who in past time has been considered far to outspoken and way to inflammatory. In this cycle Christie seems to be largely muted in comparison to Donald Trump and his larger than life personality.
So far it seems as though Mr. Trump seems to have the entire Republican Party on their heals and reeling as though they have all been on a 3 day drunk in a low rent bar. Is Donald Trump really doing anything untoward or is he merely voicing what the American people have thought for years? Is Mr. Trump turning this party on its head by accident or does he actually have his finger on the pulse that the GOP Elitist should have had long ago?
The first indication came when Governor Rick Perry who was the first to launch a grenade (which blew up in his face) at the New York Tycoon. I wrote an article when he did and categorically stated that Perry had just committed political suicide. Normally and historically when a candidate say’s something that is somewhat inflammatory, it will usually hurt them in both the media and the polling. Perry hoping to capitalize on Trumps “Mexican immigrant” statements seemed to have drunk cyanide when he did launch his attack. This was the first meter reading in this contest that gave us the hint of just how angry the American people are at the political establishment and professional politicians in general. Not only was Trump not so much as tarnished, he actually rose dramatically in the polls and had the media foaming at the mouth over this political anomaly known as Donald J. Trump.
To prove the level of anger in the nation, Iowa is usually a great barometer of ‘anything’ Americana. As the sun sets on the first day of this years Iowa State Fair, the results are coming in from the world-famous “Cast your Kernel” straw polling contest.
Cast Your Kernel Results for RepublicansShould it be shocking that in this “purple” state of Iowa the Republicans are leading the Democrats by 40% points? Could it not be that this is just another example of the failure of the Obama administration. I believe it probably is.
One of the biggest indicators that something is amiss with the Republican Party is “who” is at the bottom of the heap in terms of popularity. Historical GOP stars such as Rick Perry, John Kasich, Lindsey Graham, Rick Santorum and many more are not even at 5%, let alone anything approaching Trump’s numbers.
Take a close look at the top 5 in the polling for the GOP. You will see another anomaly that we have not seen in previous elections. Three of the top 5 in polling are “outsiders” to politics in general. This should be evidence alone that it is “NOT” Donald Trump destroying the GOP, but the elephants whom have not answered the call of the American people!
The corruption of John Boehner, Mitch McConnell and other Republican leadership has certainly not helped the GOP cause. The failing of these leaders to adhere to their campaign promises of “de-funding” Obama-Care has done more damage to the Republican brand than anything Donald Trump could or would ever do.
For years now, the American people have put up with the likes of Karl Rove undermining the conservative movement known as the Tea Party. The Donald, Carly Fiorina and Dr. Ben Carson are now taking the party back to its conservative roots and the power of the Tea Party is about to be realized across the fruited plain (yes I am borrowing Rush Limbaugh’s line).
My advice to the Republican Party is get on board, stop whining and let us go win this election. You Mr. and Mrs. Republican Leadership have had decades to prove your leadership and representation of conservatism in America. YOU FAILED! The conservative grassroots in this nation are about to strip you of your power, strip you of your corrupt behavior and strip you of your seats at the golden table.
Donald Trump is not damaging your party. You damaged it long ago with lies, lies, more lies and still more broken promises and lies. Mr. Donald Trump is nothing but the result of your failure to represent conservatism and the anger from this failure is deafening across the fields of Iowa, South Carolina and New Hampshire and soon to be many, many more states.
It is our heartfelt prayer that Donald Trump not just win the nomination, but he goes to Washington, D. C. and shakes out all the snakes and all the cheaters and gold-bricks. This doesn’t happen very often in America, but every time America get’s into serious trouble, God sends along a truly great man to lead us out of the abyss. Is Donald Trump our Franklin Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington or JFK? I don’t know, only time will tell. If the American people have anything to say about it and it appears they are speaking loud and clear, he very well could be.

They claim Trump is sucking the oxygen out of the race or something along those lines, when in fact he's sucking the oxygen out of what's wrong with the Republican Party and transferring that oxygen to the Real Republicans who like me have been very upset with our party now for several if not many years on the issues of trade, immigration and taxes. For the first time in a very long time, I feel like there's real competency in the race for the Republican nomination and that competency lies almost entirely in the skills, intelligence, personality and goals of Donald Trump. And, for Trump, it's not rhetoric to get votes or money, at least not on these 3 issues. I've listened to him bombast these terrible policies since the 1980's. And yes, there may be some details for him to catch up on and incorporate into his actual plans and policies, and this is how successful business people work. They have the basic notion, vision or goal, they see the problem and decide to cure it, and then work out the details of how best to do that and during the course of that process, they will change their position on one detail or aspect of another based on new information, that's part of the "negotiation" and there's probably no one better at winning the end game of that process in the country today than Donald Trump.

The Republican Party damaged itself after the American public elected them to office in Congress more than ever before and instead of stopping Obama, stopping his unconstitutional amnesty and other abuses of power, the GOP has protected and facilitated Obama!
I have zero sympathy for "Republicans" in power while I have all the sympathy in the world for Republican voters that are trying like hell to do the right thing.

Yep. People are voicing their opinion of the Repub leadership, and it's bad news for those who are selling out the American people, to please their big money donors.
