Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump told Newsmax TV on Wednesday that Hillary Clinton was attacking his "Second Amendment" comments to divert attention away from her own problems.
"She's got all of her email scandals and all of the problems that they have — and they're trying to get out of them," Trump told "Newsmax Prime" host J.D. Hayworth before the start of a rally at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Fla. "They fully know it."

At a rally in Iowa, Clinton argued that "words matter" and said that Trump's remarks represented the "casual inciting of violence."
"Yesterday, we witnessed the latest in a long line of casual comments by Donald Trump that crossed the line," the Democrat said in Des Moines. "His casual cruelty to a Gold Star family.
"His casual suggestion that more countries should have nuclear weapons. And now his casual inciting of violence.
"Every single one of these incidents shows us that Donald Trump simply does not have the temperament to be president and commander-in-chief of the United States," Clinton said.
"The stakes have never by higher."
Trump told Hayworth that Clinton knew that he was not advocating violence and reiterated that he was speaking of "the power of the people."
"She knows it's not so," he said. "Matter of fact, I guess she said some pretty bad things over the years, but they know it's not so.
"What we're talking about very simply is the power of the people," the nominee added.
"We have such power because they believe in the Second Amendment — and there's such incredible voting strength, and that's what we talk about.
"Everybody knows that and she knows that."
At the rally, Trump slammed both Clinton and President Barack Obama for creating the Islamic State.
"ISIS is honoring President Obama," he said told supporters. "He’s the founder of ISIS. He founded ISIS.
"I would say the co-founder would be 'Crooked' Hillary Clinton," Trump continued.
Clinton spent four years as Obama's secretary of state.
The president created a void for ISIS to fill when he withdrew U.S. troops from the Mideast, he said.
"We should never have gotten out the way we got out," Trump told the rally. "We unleashed terrible fury all over the Middle East.
"Instead of allowing some small forces behind to maybe, just maybe, keep it under control, we pulled it out.
"Then Obama came in — and normally you want to clean up, and he made a bigger mess," Trump said.
"We’re not respected. We’re laughed at all over the world."
