Trump’s Muslim Immigration Suspension Suggestion Not Without Precedent

    March 6, 2016
    By James Longstreet

Are we there yet? The McCarran-Walter Act of 1952.

Oh the outrage from the Left when Trump suggested a suspension of immigration from Muslim countries. So often he was misquoted as the “temporarily” condition was usually omitted for impact (Eleanor Clift, etc.). The Left repeatedly misquoted his suggestion ad nauseum, and sans accuracy.

Trump’s suggestion is not without historical backup, however. In 1952, after WWII and on the cusp of the Cold War, an immigration act was passed by Congress over a Truman veto. The two pillars of this act were to first maintain the demographics of the nation. Percentages of the existing citizenry’s demographic makeup were transposed to the allowable immigration quotas. Second, and to the Trump suggestion, national security concerns could indeed halt the “infiltration” of the unwanted into the United States.

“At the basis of The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 (aka The McCarran-Walter Act) was the continuation and codification of the National Origins Quota System. It revised the 1924 system to allow for national quotas at a rate of one-sixth of one percent of each nationality’s population in the United States in 1920.”

Regarding national security and to bolster the legitimacy of Trump’s suggestion,

“.concerns that the United States could face communist infiltration through immigration and that unassimilated aliens could threaten the foundations of American life. To these individuals, limited and selective immigration was the best way to ensure the preservation of national security and national interests.”

    The McCarran-Walter Act,

“…focused upon denying immigrants who were unlawful, immoral, diseased in any way, politically radical etc. and accepting those who were willing and able to assimilate into the US economic, social, and political structures, which restructured how immigration law was handled. Furthermore, the most notable exclusions were anyone even remotely associated with communism which in the early days of the Cold War was seen as a serious threat to US democracy.”

For the 21st Century we must substitute ISIS, Al Qaeda, et al for “communist”. The key phrases in the language describing the Act are “unassimilated aliens” and “preservation of national security”. Muslim communities spring up in the United States (Dearborn, MI) ala the “no go” zones of France, and the unassimilated demand the importation of their own set of laws (Sharia). There are groups avowing to do us harm and who promise infiltration. Trump’s suggestion falls in line with the concerns of the early 1950’s and the legislative reaction to those concerns. Are we there yet?

This applies to illegals from Mexico, South America and China as well. Illegals demonstrating on our streets and refusing to assimilate, building inland communities that claim dual citizenship supported by their respective countries inside of our borders and using fraud to steal tax dollars are equally as destructive. Public Law 414 – June 27, 1952

“THE ADMINISTRATION IS BREAKING THE LAW”

by Kevin Cannon, We the People Alabama,

(Dec. 8, 2015) — The Immigration and Nationality Act passed June 27, 1952 revised the laws relating to immigration, naturalization, and nationality for the United States. That act, which became Public Law 414, established both the law and the intent of Congress regarding the immigration of Aliens to the US and remains in effect today. Among the many issues it covers, one in particular, found in Chapter 2 Section 212, is the prohibition of entry to the US if the Alien belongs to an organization seeking to overthrow the government of the United States by “force, violence, or other unconstitutional means.” This, by its very definition, rules out Islamic immigration to the United States, but this law is being ignored by the White House.

The law prohibits entry of “Aliens who the consular officer or the Attorney General knows or has reason to believe seek to enter the United States solely, principally, or incidentally to engage in activities which would be prejudicial to the public interest, or endanger the welfare, safety, or security of the United States.” It also prohibits the entry of Aliens who are members of or affiliated with any organization that advocates or teaches, the overthrow by force, violence, or other unconstitutional means of the US or of all forms of law, and Aliens who publish, circulate and distribute materials teaching or advocating the overthrow by force, violence or other unconstitutional means of the US Government or of all forms of law.

Islamic immigration to the US would be prohibited under this law because the Koran, Sharia Law and the Hadith all require complete submission to Islam, which is antithetical to the US government, the Constitution, and to the Republic. All Muslims who attest that the Koran is their life’s guiding principle subscribe to submission to Islam and its form of government. Now the political correct crowd would say that Islamists cannot be prohibited from entering the US because Islam is a religion. Whether it is a religion is immaterial because the law states that Aliens who are affiliated with any “organization” that advocates the overthrow of our government are prohibited. It also prohibits those who distribute literature that advocates the overthrow of our country, which would include the Koran.

In fact, there are many verses in the Koran that command Islamists to kill those who do not submit to allah and the prophet. If Congress so desired to hold the White House accountable to the current immigration of refugees (which also must comply with the law), it has the Immigration and Nationality Act to cite. The Administration is breaking that law. The question is “Does Congress have the political will to do something about it?”

To read the law, go to this link and scroll down to Chapter 2, Section 212:

Michael Hayden: Trump Is Helping ISIS
    “He’s feeding their recruitment video.”
    05/30/2016 10:55 am ET
    Alana Horowitz Satlin

Donald Trump may have vowed to “bomb the shit” out of the Islamic State, but his anti-Muslim rhetoric may actually be helping the terror group, according to one of the United States’ top foreign policy experts.

Michael Hayden, the former head of both the CIA and the NSA, explained in an interview with the Guardian that “the jihadist narrative is that there is undying enmity between Islam and the modern world.”

“When Trump says they all hate us, he’s using their narrative,” Hayden said. “He’s feeding their recruitment video.”

Trump has proposed banning all Muslims, a religion of 1.6 billion people, from entering the U.S.

“Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life,” he said in December, days after 14 people were shot and killed by terrorists in San Bernardino, California. The shooters, Syed Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik, were Muslim.

In the months after the San Bernardino shooting, as well as November’s deadly terror attacks in Paris, Muslims across the U.S. have seen an increase in violence and harassment. Last month, one Trump supporter in D.C. allegedly called a woman wearing a hijab a terrorist and a “worthless piece of Muslim trash.” A group of men in Kansas reportedly beat up a Muslim student while shouting Trump’s name.

Trump has dismissed concerns that his xenophobic rhetoric is hateful. The former reality TV star, who has also made racist statements about Mexican immigrants, said that two of his fans who beat up a Hispanic man were simply “passionate.”

This General Hayden is a cop-out, a failure from A to Z. He thinks spying on Americans through NSA is wonderful and that we should kiss the ass of foreign Muslims to keep US safe. No, you keep people who are not consistent with our culture and who hate women, non-Muslim religions and western culture from entering the United States to live here.

Americans do not embrace immigration. Those who claim we do are liars. Americans have never embraced immigration, it's been shoved down our throats at almost every turn. Americans have for the most part resented all immigrants. That's just the way it is and the way it has been since the beginning of our country. Yes, there was a brief period as the nation was being settled that as they arrived, they were pushed west. They were pushed west because even then there weren't enough jobs or money for the number coming. But after the country was settled, immigration became a burden, a source of dispute and a violation of our domestic harmony, thus there were immigration controls to prevent, prohibit and limit immigration into the United States.

That doesn't mean that we don't respect fellow Americans who are recent immigrants or from families who have recently migrated into the US. We do. Once you're here legally, for the most part with rare exception, you are part of the country when you become a citizen, and that includes Muslims. Never in my life until 9-11, did I ever give thought to a Muslim because they were Muslim. Why? Because they were already Americans from long ago, were assimilated, their religion a part of their spiritual life not their political life like every other American's religion. But then something happened to change that. Americans didn't change. Muslims changed. Muslims came here with malcontent for adverse purpose. They came for reasons other than to become Americans, they came to do something else.

So General Hayden is full of it. Americans are not "fueling" ISIS, Trump is not "fueling" ISIS or Al Qaeda or Jihad or Terrorism. What Hayden is doing is what misogynists do with female rape victims, blame the victims and those standing up for them. What Hayden is doing is pandering much like some in America pandered to the Nazis, "be nice to Hitler or he'll cancel our business contracts and come after US". What Hayden is doing is distorting much like some did in America to perpetuate slavery, "we can't feed and clothe the country without slaves, the banks will collapse if we don't pay off our slave loans". You do not pander to evil, and that is what Hayden has just done.

No wonder we're losing everywhere at everything when we have such absolutely silly and stupid people like "General" Hayden, a former head of BOTH the CIA and the NSA, who believes that submitting to evil, kissing the ass of evil, is somehow a defense against it. This is not American. This is not how Americans think. This is not who Americans are. We slap evil in the face, we call it what it is, we ban it, we fight it, we stomp it, we kill it, and never look back.

That's who Americans were once. It's time we be that again.
