When I stated Trump does not listen to anyone, what I meant is he is a know it all and he will PROBABLY not be listening to us either since he thinks he always knows what is best. He is vain and pompous, not good qualities for someone who is supposed to listen to and take direction from the people.
I think we are so in the twilight zone to even be thinking of considering Donald Trump as an option, we are truly desperate.

WHERE IS THE GEORGE WASHINGTONS AND THE THOMAS JEFFERSONS of this day and age!!!????? We really need a hero about now!

I don't know what I think about this. While it's true that he would probably not let anyone push him around, at the same time I'm under the impression that he is rather pompous. Trying to buy the mosque site was the first time he really ever got my attention as speaking up on behalf of the American people, but other than that....he's just been a very rich American to me. I've never heard him say boo about the border, illegal immigration or anything.

I lean towards being a bit skeptical about this. We'll see. I worry even if he came out and said all of the right things regarding our country's problems, etc., I still worry that he might decide to take the soft side after being elected.

Only a person who has a track record of sticking to his guns would give me confidence in supporting them.

I wish there was a Duncan Hunter out there to run. I would trust him and would feel confident about voting for him. To me he wouldn't allow anyone to push him around and at the same time he's also a humble and down to earth person with strong principles and good character.

I think that a guy like Donald Trump, an obviously more than successful businessman has a far better chance at running the country the way it should be than someone like Obama and a whole lot of other people in Washington today. I voted for Ross Perot....don't laugh! I thought his funny little cue cards were fabulous. People in this country that have no clue could perhaps learn something from someone like that.

In addition to that...the more I think about it while it's true that he offered to buy the mosque site, okay...that's nice...however I'd almost prefer if he would have just had the guts to stand up and say, "this is wrong to do to the victims, their families and the American people". I'm sure when he made that offer that he was already "thinking" about running for president. So that means that he might have thought that he could "buy" the hearts of the American people.

I'm tired of seeing people who think because they have all the money in the world that they are somehow a good candidate for president.

I'm sorry to be tough on him, as I said, in many ways I think that was a "nice gesture", but I need to hear what comes out of his mouth I already know what he can pull out of his wallet.

He'd have A LOT of proving to do for me to ever consider voting for him to become our next president.

I could be wrong but I was thinking that Trump offered to buy the mosque site because it was real estate. I thought that he was thinking that if he bought it, that would keep someone from putting something outrageous and controversial on the spot.

I do want to clarify that although I believe Trump to be a great businessman, I do certainly acknowledge that he suffers from the "I'm in love with myself" syndrome that seems to be characteristic for most rich people. I've been to the Trump Casino in Atlantic City twice and it was hard not to throw up when I observed that everything sold in the gift shops there have the Donald's name all over them. I even saw that they sold an action figure of Trump.
Who on earth would want to own a Donald Trump action figure?

I am hesitant to support Trump. I think he is completely unelectable anyway...many are turned off by the arrogant attitude, and a lot of people flat out don't like him. He may have the ability to "get things done," however that can be a negative unless we are positive he is on our side. I am not positive of this, and here is why:

He says that the Arizona law is a result of "the federal government not making a law." That is completely incorrect....It is the federal government not enforcing the existing law. We already have quality laws on immigration, and claiming we need a new federal law on immigration has me suspicious unless he clarifies. Often OBLs will claim that the Arizona law is a result of McCain/Kennedy being unsuccessful. You really have to watch these public figures' words closely.

On trade, I agree that the free trade deals are disasterous, but I'm unsure what his solutions are. I have heard him say this before, that we need businessmen like himself to negotiate trade deals instead of beaurocrats.....but what would our position be? Have businessmen do it directly rather than Washington beaurocrats do it on behalf of businessmen like we do now? He clearly states that he is against tariffs, but wants to negotiate for foreigners to lower theirs? If we deny ourselves this valuable bargaining chip, how on earth does he expect to negotiate from a position of strength as he claims? Besides, tariffs are certainly not the only unfair advantage that foreign nations hold over us in trade. Like on immigration, he needs to make his policy position completely clear, or I will remain skeptical.

Some quotes from the Donald over the years have also rubbed me the wrong way. When Ms. USA was booed in Mexico he made excuses for the anit-American Mexicans, claiming they were not booing her, but opposing "policies of the United States." He also pulled out of the Reform Party when Pat Buchanan entered, and called Pat a "Hitler lover."
Serve Bush with his letter of resignation.

    See you at the signing!!

Yea, BearFlag, I agree with you. I think he would be far too risky of a candidate for the American people. We cannot afford another blunder.

Let him stick to the business world, same with Forbes.

Come on guys just because you've had it all and seen it all and now there's no other challenge and excitment left for you to get excited about other than to seek the presidency doesn't mean that you're qualified for it or fit for it.

Just because Obama got elected doesn't mean that the American people will always elect "just anybody".

Today, Brett Baier had an online poll on which Governor would you vote for in the Presidental election. The choices were Tim Pawlenty, Bobby Jindal, Mitch Daniels, or Haley Barbour. Here's the results:

    Haley Barbour (R-MS)
    16.61% (811 votes)

    Mitch Daniels (R-IN)
    29.58% (1,444 votes)

    Bobby Jindal (R-LA)
    34.51% (1,685 votes)

    Tim Pawlenty (R-MN)
    19.3% (942 votes)
RIP TinybobIdaho -- May God smile upon you in his domain forevermore.

This makes me think that they haven't found the "right one" yet. I am not shot in the foot with any of these people.
