ENJOY: DREAMers rant about what to do next.

Well, like most of the older members in DA forum, I'm tired and fed up with the games of politics. Like I wrote a few weeks ago, my Lawyer said that the Dream Act is a joke and just a political game and well today i believe he was right.

I'm entering almost my 20yrs in the US mark and I've been supporting the Dream Act since it was first introduce in 2001. Now 2010, hope has been lost, I read some post of the optimism from younger members and I see the resemblance of me a few years back.

Time is passing by, and we are not getting younger. This is the 3rd time the Dream had it chance again and it failed.

Now, what is next? Next term, new Republican "Tea Party" members will be in Congress and do you believe they will vote for it? Democrats and Republicans are the same Crap! They come from the same schools and most of them are members of Secret Societies. DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE IN THESE PEOPLE?

If Reid could bring the Dream Act as Stand Alone Bill, then he should of Done it in the First Year of Obama's Election. WHY VOTE FOR DREAM IN AN ELECTION YEAR?

I'm tired of all this DREAM ACT AND CIR BULLSHIT! IF THEY HAVEN'T PASSED IT THE DREAM ACT IN 9 YEARS, WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THEY WILL PASS IT THIS YEAR????

.This is my 3rd time with the Dream act too. i'm so wordless at this point. i just can not believe what just happened. Im so convinced now in the new world era. this people are in it for their own personal agenda and their running the whole show. the mother****ing kkk goverment leaders we have in the us are ****ing shit heads! their is nothing left. its over for us. for the young ones good luck. im going to be 27 already, and im out of time. at this moment im soooooo confused. i feel like a brick just hit me on the face. **** this illuminaty wannabe's

.It's funny to me when I watch in C-SPAN Dick Durbin and Reid speak about the importance of the Dream Act and how they will fight until the end to pass it. WELL??
It's been almost 10 years now? When will they have the balls to bring it up as a Stand Alone Bill?

The only thing left to do is vote for it as a Stand Alone Bill and if it doesn't pass then we will all know it will NEVER PASS.
    buckminsterfullerene

.They did not pass it early on because they were worried it would make passage of the CIR unlikely. It was a joke back then and it is a joke now. All it did was ensure neither of them have a chance of passing. If the bill was introduced alone now, they are saying that 11 republicans would have supported, they just didn't support the idea that the amendments were introduced without giving them the opportunity of adding their own amendments, despite the promise that they would be able to pass their own amendments later on. Its all a politics game, it makes the democrats look bad, people blame the democrats for all that goes on, and the public starts voting for republicans. People reward republicans inability to work for them by electing republicans.

After the vote there were a lot of promises mentioned about this not being the end and how everyone supported the DREAM Act from the beginning, how it was in the DOD's plans, how the military called it a dream for recruiters, but that I feel is just a bunch of BS, they are trying to get the hispanic voters to come forward and vote for them. This whole situation thing has taught me a lot about the bullshit politicians and media feed people.

Its not about the people that they care, its about being democratic or republican, that is all they care about, the republicans want to show the democrats that they still have power and they use it by denying passage to the most basic bills. More assistance for 9/11 people that are starting to die of health problem, every republican said no to that, giving tax breaks that would benefit 98% of the nation but exclude the richest 2% they voted no, until recently two republicans finally switched sides and passed it (probably on their assumption that the republicans would be taking both houses again and the change will coincide with their taking over the houses to make people keep them in both houses longer).

Sorry for the rant, in response to the question posted originally, I do not think that it is over, not by a long shot, not as long as there is at least some support out there. I will just focus more of my time changing the perception of citizens about myself and the group of people that I represent, senators are stones that only care about who will be voting for them then I say lets hit them at the source. We spent a lot of time trying to appeal to deaf ears, when there are a lot of people out there that still think that the DREAM Act is meant to give free education to undocumented students while legal students have to pay for tuition, that is really what I have read not just once but multiple times in newspapers and opinions about news articles from people that end up voting on those misinformed ideas.

.^^^I agree that we have to educate people on the DREAM act and stop with this sob stories. they know we can't get in state tuition, grants, loans, etc. They don't care!

Seriously, go to your local newspaper's site, look for the opinion section or look for a dream act article and see if there are any comments from people in there. People are seriously misinformed, they are the ones at this point that elect people, I am working right now to correct all incorrect information of what they think the DREAM Act is about. they are way way off, and I am in Miami, heavily hispanic area here, for them to be so incredibly misinformed is shocking, because then they contact senators to stop the passage of this bill and we have to work twice or thrice as hard to make up for one qualified voter that calls their senator asking to be against the DREAM Act.

I don't see how it being a stand alone bill would help.

As you can see, the republicans voted as a block against the *defense budget* and they're the guys who like tanks and planes and things blowing up. That's how much they don't like DADT and DREAM Act.

Heck, a stand alone bill wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in hell in the Senate... not unless the democrats have 60. They don't and at this rate they won't for a long time to come :/

    Good try Reid, good try.

and as someone else pointed in a different thread, while there are republicans that are support the DREAM Act as a stand alone bill, can we be certain that we would have all the democrats supporting the DREAM Act as a stand alone bill.

.it kills me that their probably celebrating right now!
    ASSHOLES!!!!!!
    WE ARE CELEBRATING.

    To EVERYBODY:
I don't mean to keep harping on the flyers that I made (I think I've mentioned them pretty much everywhere), but I feel the DREAM Act Information flyer would really really helpful at correcting misinformation about the DREAM Act. It has concise information about the DREAM Act and can be posted online or printed. Link is below:

It is kinda sad to see these young people spending so much of their time trying to stuff Dream Act down our throats instead of going home/some other country and getting on with their lives.

A real waste . Instead of enjoying their younger years they are sooo focused on the Dream Act life is passing them by........ it is like an addiction.

so sad so true ... with the money they've been making from their illegal jobs which i'm sure they all have , they could MORE than afford to save up and go to college in their home countries ... you figure they go to college for 4 years in their native country , graduate with a degree that's WORTH something , and i'm not talking a psychology degree , and then apply to become a US citizen ... with in demand jobs they would be back in this country so fast you couldn't blink ..

It still fascinates me that these people think that:

    1. They are owed something.
    2. The voice of the majority of the American people means nothing.
    3. Our congress should vote for their agenda no matter the illegality of their actions and the subsequent impact on American citizens.

Are they living in the twilight zone? Will they ever get it? They need to give up on this "nightmare act" and get on with returning to their parents country of origin. WE THE PEOPLE did not give these illegal invaders our approval to sneak into this country uninvited, pillage and plunder our treasury and bankrupt our families futures. GET THE HELL OUT!

That sure paints an ugly visual draindog!

But you are right! Good thing it won't go anywhere, at least for now.

These people are the ones that are misinformed. If only they would read the bill, they might just realize that it is primarily a backdoor grand amnesty plan, and that is what most of us oppose!

The qualifications that were given for illegals to take advantage of the Dream Act were (1) Having gone to college for two years (2) Having served in the military for 2 years, is that correct?
Just yesterday, my son went to an army recruiting office (he's 24) and they told him that a requirement for being accepted into the army was that he would have to have 6 college credits. So, does that mean that those illegals who would attempt to qualify for the Dream Act would also have to have the 6 college credits to get into the army or....would they have been exempt from that requirement? Hopefully what I'm asking here makes sense.
