Colbert made mockery of Congress
Just when you thought that Congress could not sink any lower, they managed to hit rock bottom today. Instead of having "real experts" discuss this subject that Is vital to our national security,we have a comedian testifying to a bunch of comedians In Congress. This Is absolutely the last straw for me. This Is truly a sad day for this country, and our nation of LEGAL CITIZENS.... TS By PATRICK GAVIN | 9/24/10 12:18 PM EDT Updated: 9/24/10 1:17 PM
Despite the fact that countless Washington reporters couldn't help but watch Stephen Colbert's Capitol Hill testimony Friday, not all were enthralled by the Comedy Central star's performance, as they expressed on Twitter.
"REALLY not sure this is funny," wrote ABC News' Rick Klein.
"Colbert is making a mockery of this hearing," said Mother Jones' David Corn.
"Colbert's testimony made a mockery of Congress," said the Washington Post's Aaron Blake.
The Hill's Mike O'Brien said, "This might be the most amazing public stunt before Congress."
National Review's Kathryn Lopez wrote that "a congressional chairman made a joke of her committee today."

Yet the jokers and clowns in that three ring circus called Congress and the administration couldn't find the time to extend tax relief for struggling Americans and businesses. This is almost as insane as that idiot House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Waxman hiring a speed reader to read the frickin' Crap and Tax Bill in front of a panel testifying before his committee (and they laughed while this guy read it) during a hearing to mark up that monstrosity of a bill. Either this is the Twilight Zone or we are in an alternate reality......

When events like this take place, I often wonder how "stoned" our Congress is and probably from Mexican drug cartel products. Is there any justification anywhere, that your taxpayer dollars and mine in a bankrupt nation; would be used to bring in a failing comedian to entertain the Congress while the Congress is supposed to be doing something productive??
Why don't we have mandatory drug testing for members of the Congress and the White House?? Don't you guys think it is about time, these druggies are tested and thrown in jail when their results come back positive? Believe me, half of them will be gone within a month. If you apply for a job almost anywhere, you have mandatory and random drug testing; only the Federal Government is exempt.... and those guys are damn stoned out of their fricken minds.

Amid a high stakes struggle to connect with voters, House Democrats turned Friday to celebrity comedian Stephen Colbert to highlight the plight of migrant farm workers.
He promptly returned the favor by turning Congress — specifically a Judiciary subcommittee — into his personal comedy club.
