In 1954, responding to an alarming explosion of illegal immigration from Mexico, President Eisenhower authorized his INS Commissioner, Gen. Joseph Swing, to launch a massive deportation operation called Operation Wetback. Though the operation employed as few as 700 to 1075 Border Patrol officers, it resulted in the repatriation of between 700,000 and 1,300,000 Mexican nationals. This was accomplished in one year.

Just a little history lesson for those naysayers who claim that it is not possible to deport, or to encourage the self-deportation of, the several million illegal immigrants currently occupying US soil. Where there is a will, there is a way, but apparently American politicians have lost the will of those members of the greatest generation.

ABSOLUTELY it could be done. History has proven deportation can be done and conversely has shown what happens when amnesty is granted.

On top of that it has always sounded ridiculous to me to say that the most powerful nation on the planet cannot control its own borders. It could be done and very quickly if THEY wanted it done.

I have to wonder where is the outrage over this and so many other things. Are Americans dumbed down to the point of no return?

I prefer to use the term "anaesthetized." Most Americans have all the requisite intelligence necessary to understand and deal with this and other issues, but we are crippled by the daily peer pressure of politically correct media and numbed by the many diversions provided by the ruling elite to keep us distracted while they do their dirty work.

I am not a naysayer and have always questioned whey we aren't aggressively deporting, but nice to have a little bit of history/fact to back up the position.

If they had no place live (enforce proof of citzenship to rent) no jobs ( stop illegal hiring) no welfare.......I guess I could go on and on. They would have no reason to be so anxious to get here or stay here.

Unfortunately, as has been already said. Now its the politically correct bunk and all the rest thats been shoved down our throats and people don't speak out.

Absolutely! It is only the will to do it! I ain't never heard so much nay saying BS from the other side in all my life. We CAN make them leave one way or the other. Self deport, or we can help you but you have to go.
