Early voting has begun across Texas, through Nov. 4

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Texans who've registered to vote have the opportunity to cast ballots early for the Nov. 8 general election.

Early voting began Monday and runs through Nov. 4 as Texans make their choices for president and other races.
Voters must present one of seven acceptable forms of photo identification. Some examples are a Texas driver's license, a U.S. military identification card, a U.S. passport or a Texas license to carry a handgun.

Secretary of State Carlos Cascos earlier this month announced Texas set a record for statewide registered voters at more than 15 million. That means nearly 78 percent of the state's estimated voting age population of 19.3 million has registered.

Texas had more than 13. 6 million registered voters during the 2012 presidential election.
