Jon Huntsman calls on Trump to drop out of the race

Jon Huntsman, the former governor of Utah who had endorsed Donald Trump for president, is calling on the Republican nominee to drop out of the race and leave his running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, to take his place at the top of the ticket.

“In a campaign cycle that has been nothing but a race to the bottom — at such a critical moment for our nation — and with so many who have tried to be respectful of a record primary vote, the time has come for Governor Pence to lead the ticket,” Huntsman told The Salt Lake Tribune.


Huntsman, a Republican who ran for president in 2012, called on Trump to bow out of the race in the wake of revelations that he had made a series of aggressive sexual comments about women, bragging about groping them, in a private conversation in 2005.

The Washington Post published video and audio from that conversation, between Trump and NBC’s Billy Bush, on Friday, prompting a flurry of condemnation from other Republicans, including Reince Priebus, the chairman of the Republican National Committee. Democrats have been quick to jump on the comments to further their argument that Trump is sexist.

If anywhere, Huntsman’s rebuke of Trump would be most likely to resonate in his home state of Utah, which is reliably Republican but has a large Mormon population with whom Trump’s rhetoric about women is not likely to sit well.

Another prominent Republican with roots in Utah, Mitt Romney, has refused to endorse Trump and also offered sharp criticism of the nominee’s leaked comments. Evan McMullin, a conservative who is running a long-shot independent bid for president, was born in the state.

All the rats are running into the streets for attention. It's not an issue and won't be. Trump will nail this. He's got it. You can tell from Donald Trump's statement he made tonight that he's not going to be defeated by a bunch of two-faced hypocrites getting their panties in a bunch over Hollywood Locker Room Banter about girl-watching. Personally I thought the story about him taking the woman he had a crush on furniture shopping was funny. I can see that being the new line for guys, "would you like to go furniture shopping"? Women do love to shop for furniture. I always did, and married my husband because he would go shopping with me, shopping for furniture, shopping for clothes, shopping for this or that. It was fun and he had excellent advice too. He would go find accessories for me while I was trying on the clothes.

Men have referred to women's private parts as the P word my whole life, because there really isn't to my knowledge any word that's any better for it. Does anyone have one? If you do, post it. I'm sure a lot of men are sitting there tonight wondering "well, what in the hell do you want us to call it, tell us and we'll use it."

What do you call it Paul Ryan? What do you call it Jason Chaffetz? What do you call it Mitt Romney?

Attempting to downplay or soften this isn't going to work. This isn't teenage locker room talk. He as much as admitted he would grab married woman by the crotch and would attempt to commit adultery. Such behavior is not okay, not by Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, me, or any man. I'm sure the media is going to be blasting this all over the place for the next couple days. Hopefully Trump will have a very impressive debate Sunday and we can move beyond this.

Real Americans don't care about male banter about women in private conversations or men using the P word. Trump used the P word in a huge rally during the Republican Primary and the crowd went wild! In fact it was a female Trump Supporter who yelled out the word, Trump laughed and the crowd couldn't hear what the joke was so he told them what she said. The crowd went wild with approval.

Jon Huntsman is not only a RINO, he's a huge OPEN BORDERS GLOBALIST.

This goes much deeper than teenage locker room banter or using a word. Of course you know that.

Trump shot his mouth off, no question and he will have to apologize.

Huntsman is a big time RINO with an agenda. The globalist, open borders RINOs will all be piling on and feigning "shock and horror". IMO
