H.R.1105
Rep. Jack Kingston and Rep. Ken Calvart proposed two separate E-Verify amendments to the House Appropriations bill for FY2010, but both amendments failed earlier today. The Kingston amendment would have required government contractors to run all employees and new hires through E-Verify.
Rep. Kingston's amendment would have required all federal contractors to verify all employees and new hires through the E-Verify system. The amendment would have countered a new executive order that the Administration is expected to announce today that weakens the 2008 executive order making requiring all government contractors to use E-Verify.
Rep. Calvart's amendment would have made E-Verify permanent in the House Appropriations bill, but it received resistance from, most notably, Rep. David Price who argued that the E-Verify will be addressed during a larger immigration reform debate.

Rep. David Price who argued that the E-Verify will be addressed during a larger immigration reform debate.
Who is David Price--
David Price represents North Carolina's Research Triangle - a rapidly growing, largely suburban district that includes Raleigh, Cary, Durham, Chapel Hill, and surrounding communities. He received his undergraduate degree at UNC-Chapel Hill and went on to Yale University to earn a Bachelor of Divinity and Ph.D. in Political Science. Before he began serving in Congress in 1987, Price was a professor of Political Science and Public Policy at Duke University. He is the author of four books on Congress and the American political system.
Price currently serves on the House Appropriations Committee and is chair of the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee. He is also a member of the Appropriations subcommittees for Interior and Environment and for Transportation, Housing and Urban Development. He is a recognized leader in foreign policy, heading the House Democracy Assistance Commission, which he initiated to help strengthen parliaments in emerging democracies. He has played a leading role in holding the Administration accountable for conduct of the Iraq War and in the effort to negotiate a just peace in the Middle East. In North Carolina, David's constituents know him as a strong supporter of education, accessible health care, affordable housing, clean air and water, and improved transportation alternatives.

I called both Price and Hagan to express my disgust with their actions today.
I keep getting letters (emails) from Hagan on how she SUPPORTS E-Verify and is against Amnesty, and today I told her aide her ACTIONS speak much louder than her BS. Kinda left the aide speechless... I said "what? No quick come back? After professing how much she SUPPORTS E-Verify, what happened today?". In my book this makes her a liar and a TRAITOR.
YOU CAN CONTACT PRICE HERE :http://price.house.gov/contact/contact_form.shtml ... "thank" him for his disgraceful actions.

Three separate E-Verify amendments failed to pass through the House Appropriations Committee earlier today. Two amendments were introduced by Rep. Jack Kingston and another by Rep. Ken Calvert.
One of Rep. Kingston's amendments would have required all federal contractors to verify all employees and new hires through the E-Verify system. The amendment would have countered a new executive order that the Administration is expected to announce today that weakens the 2008 executive order requiring all government contractors to use E-Verify. The amendment failed by a 23-to-35 vote.
Rep. Kingston's second amendment would have required all employees, contractors, and subcontractors of the Legislative Branch to use E-Verify. That amendment failed by a voice vote.
Rep. Calvart's amendment would have permanently reauthorized E-Verify, but it received resistance from, most notably, Rep. David Price who argued that E-Verify will be addressed during a larger immigration reform debate. The amendment failed 21-to-36.
Another immigration-related amendment that would prevent Gitmo detainees from acquiring visas passed by a 34-to-24 vote.
