FBI misses deadline to turn over Comey memos on Trump

WASHINGTON — May 25, 2017, 3:39 PM ET

The FBI says it needs more time to consider a request by Congress to turn over memos and other documents related to meetings between former FBI Director James Comey and President Donald Trump.

House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz had asked for the material by Wednesday.

On Thursday, the FBI sent a letter saying it is still evaluating the request in light of former FBI director Robert Mueller's appointment as special counsel in the case. Mueller is investigating Russian interference in the presidential election and possible collusion with Trump's campaign.

Chaffetz is seeking FBI documents and recordings detailing communications between Trump and Comey. Trump fired Comey May 9 amid questions about the FBI's investigation.

Assistant FBI Director Gregory Brower told Chaffetz the agency will update him as soon as possible.

LOL!! Yes, I bet they do need more time. Comey has chattered outside a law enforcement agency to a journalist friend about his meeting and conversations with the President concerning on-going FBI investigations. FBI officials have leaked the existence of "memos" backing up the friend to whom Comey chattered. FBI has leaked all types of agency information to the press. Leaked the photos of the terrorist bombing in Manchester. So yes, the FBI has a big problem. Their "intel" is phony, their "analyses" suck, they refused to meet with Trump after he fired Comey, they've established their support for Comey instead of our President and country, Comey has been exposed as a stooge of the Russians in how he handled the Clinton email pronouncements, no one at the FBI has come forward to chat about the leakers, the risk of sharing classified information to the press, spying on the Trump campaign during an election, colluding with the CIA and the NSA to falsify intelligence to try to support Russia interfering in our "democracy" through TRUMP TIES TO RUSSIA inquiry, and now they need time to decide whether to fabricate the "memos", rewrite the "memos", or just hold out claiming they don't want to mess up the Mueller investigation of whatever it is he is intends to investigate which currently appears to be ... nothing because there are no crimes other than the "leaker" crimes, all the while the IG is investigating the FBI and maybe they want to wait for that.

Bottom-line is ... they are not cooperating with Congress in a transparent and timely fashion about an issue that was created by someone in the FBI.

Pathetic. The credibility of the FBI is ... zero .... at the present time.
