The Associated Press reports that four people were hurt in a shooting at Renown Regional Medical Center Tuesday afternoon, and that the shooter killed himself.

One victim remains in surgery at the time of this writing.

2nd Street remains closed as police investigate the scene. The call came in around 2:15pm for the Kuenzli and Manuel professional building location.

A gunman and another person were killed during a shooting Tuesday at a medical building at Renown Medical Center, said Tom Robinson of the Reno, Nevada, Police Department. Two other people were injured and were being treated at a hospital, Robinson said. The shooter, who carried one weapon, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

. . . Dr. Charles G. Gholdoian, who worked at the Urology Nevada office on the Renown Regional Medical Center, was killed, authorities said.A female doctor at the clinic, who was not identified, and a patient identified as Shawntae Spears were wounded and remained in critical condition Wednesday morning, officials said.
Reno police said they had found no motive for the shooting, adding that they had tentatively identified the gunman but were not naming him until they could notify his family. . .

. . . Officials identified the shooter, who took his own life, as Alan Oliver Frazier, 51, of Lake Almanor, Calif. Officers also found firearms at his home, Reno Police Lt. William Rulla said at a news conference.“Inside, we located a typed letter indicating the suspect’s intention to commit this horrific act. We also located other firearms within the residence as well as notes indicating that the suspect’s actions during this incident were to be his final actions,” Rulla said.
Frazier opened fire Tuesday afternoon inside the Urology Nevada clinic, which is on the grounds of Renown Regional Medical Center but unaffiliated with it.
“We may never know the suspect's exact motive or reason for his actions, but there is an indication that his focus was on physicians at this specific office,” Rulla said.
Frazier claimed he had “adverse symptoms” from surgery in 2010, Rulla said, but did not say where he had the surgery or who performed it. Officials were looking into Frazier's medical records to determine the nature of his surgery and claims.
